Hughes: Relegation would not affect QPRâs long-term aims 05/05/2012 by David McIntyre Mark Hughes has pledged that QPR will become an established Premier League club again â regardless of whether they stay up this season. Rangers face Stoke on Sunday desperately needing a victory as they battle against relegation, especially as their final match of the campaign is away to title-chasing Manchester City. But manager Hughes is convinced the Râs will bounce back if they drop down to the Championship. âAll relegation would do is slow down the process,â he said. âAt some point in the future the club will be stronger and will be in a position to be successful over a longer period â but that will be accelerated if we stay up this year. âIf weâre not able to achieve our goal this year then it would be a setback, but it wonât change what will happen at this club. âThereâs no need to think in those terms though. Thereâs two games to go and itâs still in our own hands.â
I'd rather not go back to the Championship, something tells me we wouldn't romp it like we did last season...
Actually we didn't romp away with it in the end....we sort of stumbled over the line. We romped away with it till February after Mackie broke his leg......and then we sort of stumbled and drew and just got there. I must admit it always worried me about this season, that we weren't starting with an aura of invincibility and which is why I wasn't surprised by Norwich, who came out like a storm at the end of last season. No I don't want to go down, but IF we did, IF Sparky stayed, IF Sparky got to keep a nucleus of the players we need (Diakite, Taiwo, Mackie, Adel) we could do quite well
Really dont want us to go down and I dont even have to go to hose horrible grounds.... As per KIWI..would definately affext my mood......
It would affext my mood too My mood is already affexted.... Currently deciding whether to go by train ......last time on train we beat Spurs or drive (cause it is Sunday little traffic) but last time I drove we lost to Fulham...What shall I do???? I think I can wear the Barca shirt with Hughes name on the back as it is not really responsible for any losses as I have worn it since Sparky took over and we have won, drawn and lost. But what is Flanman's baby wearing?
hee hee...thanks miss !! can you do my maths too..? wear the Barca shirt beth. i think they look really good on women /ladies. I'm going to be searching the crowd looking for ya...and please....get the train.! You have no idea how many spelling mistakes there origionally were in this reply !!
Aaaaaaaaaah you remembered.....the truck is in the garage along with my Vern-dressing up clothes. Today I will mainly be Beth...We never win when Vern goes along
Just leaving for the game. I don't want to hear about not staying up. The Championship is notoriously hard to escape from and no amount of investment guarantees success (just check out the progress of Leicester). As Hughes says, its in our own hands. He needs to throw caution to the wind and get a win today come what may. God only knows what we do at Man City of Bolton also win.
