.Hughes: QPR would be wrong to sack me
Nov 19 2012 By Jacob Murtagh

MARK Hughes reckons Rangers would be wrong to give him the boot and insists he's still the right man to turn things around.

QPR are rooted to the foot of the table after failing to win any of their opening 12 matches, with Saturday's defeat to fellow strugglers Southampton leaving Hughes on the brink.

Section of home supporters called for the Welshman to be axed following the dismal display in the 3-1 reverse against the Saints.

However, Hughes has vowed to carry on fighting and issued a desperate plea to keep his job as owner Tony Fernandes mulls over his future.

He said: "Stability is absolutely what this club needs in the long term.

"Until you get to that point where you can establish yourself in the Premier League, then you have to go through periods where there is doubt or apprehension about what the future holds.

"We are at that point in time now, but I think wholesale changes once again for this club would be the wrong decision in my view.

"You would expect me to say that but I honestly believe it. The owners understand that we're at that place in time. We just need to get through this, come out the other side and look back at this and think, 'We needed to go through that period to grow stronger'.

"It is difficult for everybody at the moment but we're not going to run away from it."

That would not be such a load of tosh if we were improving week by week but unfortunately we are not.

Agree. Any improvement and a just a couple more points and some of us could buy that but not now.

Here's a thought though. Consider the 'QPR way' of doing things. How about we draw with Man U against all odd, draw with Sunderland and then win against Villa at home. Unlikely? Yes. Impossible? No.
If Hughes is given one last roll, he has a (not so) secret weapon. Everyone will be expecting us to got Man U and get comprehensively trounced. If he can use that to actually motivate the team and get them to play for a draw, then who knows?!!

I know it's a bit of a pipe dream but then we are QPR and we do have a unique way of doing things!!!

I can't stay negative for ever so, whether Hughes in or out, COYRssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!
