Hughes: My stars will soon shine and QPR will rise from the bottom

..Mark Hughes is unwavering in his belief that QPR will soon get their first win of the season and climb off the foot of the table – because of the star players at his disposal.
QPR find themselves bottom of the table with three draws and five defeats so far this season. Hughes insisted yesterday that only the home losses to Swansea and West Ham were not in the plans the club made in the summer.
He has come under pressure after brining in the star names from Champions League sides including Ji-Sung Park from Manchester United, Esteban Granero from Real Madrid and Julio Cesar from Inter Milan and not delivering on the pitch. But it is because of those players that Hughes is confident that points are not far off.

The only way is up: Mark Hughes says his team will rise up the table
The 48-year-old said: 'That was one of the reasons I bought [Granero] and the likes of Julio Cesar and Ji-Sung Park because they've got a different mentality, a winner's mentality.

'And that has to come to the fore. We will turn this around because of the players I have in my group but we have to get the first win under our belts and that will calm everything down and then we can build from there. The longer it goes on we put ourselves under pressure.

'We know we can go up against good teams and give a real good account of ourselves and really compete. I know I have got a better team technically and ability wide than last year and I won games last year. So that’s the reason I know I will win games this year.'

Between them the trio have won 24 trophies at club level spanning six countries – so they are not used to scrapping at the bottom end of the table

But Hughes added: 'It's a different situation for them. But when you speak to them they're really enjoying the emotions that they're feeling and the challenge they have.

That's the reason they've come here. They knew they were coming to a club that wasn't going to be winning week in week out. Which is what they're used to. That's one of the reasons they've come here because they want that challenge they want a different stimulus and that's what they're getting, certainly.

QPR boss insist his team has 'winning mentality'

Esteban GraneroQPR boss Mark Hughes insists the ‘winning mentality’ of his talented squad will see the club out of the relegation zone sooner rather than later.

Rangers face Arsenal at The Emirates later today, knowing they are odds-on to stay winless and rooted to the foot of the table.

But with five Champions League medallists to call on, the manager reckons it is only a matter of time before the cream rises to the top – and with it, Rangers.

Djibril Cissé, Park Si-Jung, Fabio da Silva, Jose Bosingwa and Julio Cesar know what it’s like to succeed at the highest level – and these qualities will ease Rs away from the bottom, according to Sparky.

“They knew they were coming to a club that wasn't going to be winning week in week out - which is what they're used to,” said Hughes.

“That's one of the reasons they've come here because they want that challenge they want a different stimulus and that's what they're getting certainly.

“You look at Esteban Granero (pic).

"He's 25 and could very easily have stayed at Real Madrid – they thought the world of him there.

“They would have given him a contract for the rest of his career probably. But he wanted more. He wanted to play week in week out and he wanted to show people what he can do. And he will do that. It's a different challenge for him now he's a key player.

“That was one of the reasons I bought him and the likes of Julio Cesar and Ji-Sung Park because they've got a different mentality, a winner's mentality. And that has to come to the fore.

“We will turn this around because of the players I have in my group.

“I know I have got a better team technically and ability wide than last year, and I won games last year. So that’s the reason I know I will win games this year
