Hughes insists QPR have got used to mental torment By Paul WarburtonMay 4 2012 Add a commentRecommend inShare.0 Share on emailShare on print Mark Hughes Image 2 QPRâs manager reckons his side have got so used to dealing with the tension of must-win home games â Sundayâs make-or-break against Stoke is almost normal. Every time Rangers beat the likes of Liverpool, Swansea, Arsenal and Spurs over the last couple of months â theyâve suffered away to make the next one at Loftus Road more important than the one before. âWe're where we have been for the last four or five games at home, and as a consequence weâre better prepared to understand whatâs required,â said Mark Hughes (pic). But the normally cool and calm manager admitted he was flummoxed what results from other games would suit Rs best. There was even a thought he might favour a defeat for Manchester United, close to his heart, and a win for Manchester City â who sacked him. The logic being that City would ease off the pedal at home to Rangers for the last game of the season on Sunday week knowing the Premier League title was all but safe. âI donât know whatâs best,â said Hughes. âIâve looked at most scenarios and I donât know what I want. âIdeally, I would not like to be a part of this like the last eight or nine years when Iâve looked at it from a distance â but this time Iâm very much in it.â Read More http://www.fulhamchronicle.co.uk/lo...#sitelife-commentsWidget-bottom#ixzz1u0IiRYco
One point out of twenty four away from home is the reason for all of the above. Thirteenth highest paid manager in the world for that return?
is he really 13th does that include national managers..that list would make an interesting read..can you post
Here you go Kiwi... http://thepathismadebywalking.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/managers_salaries.png Or this one if you prefer English pounds.... http://media.zenfs.com/en-GB/blogs/rankings-uk/090312-managers.jpg
Very funny! lol, I was trying to teach my 8 year old daughter how to work out percentages. So I thought I would use the away game points as an example. Warnocks 10 from 30 was nice and easy, but Sparkys 1 from 24 was a bit harder.. Hold on.. I think your right Brix, I'm an anorak.
Moyes on £3m a year!! No way. The financial position Everton have been in for the past few years would surely make that unfeasible. McLeish at No.20 would also madden Villa fans further.
Stay up this year, kick on next and we won't be talking about his wages. Could be argued that he has a harder job than some on that list! And certainly took a big personal risk joining us. Find it hard to criticize anyone who negotiates well on his/ her own behalf. Some of the clubs may be mugs though.
Oh contraire. Its that very expenditure that keeps Everton where they are whilst continually selling their best players. Its great business as far as Kenwright is concerned.
You're right Nines. He has been a terrible disappointment so far. But he still has a chance to turn it all around.
Mental torment of manager and players on £000's a week, nothing compared with mental torment of fans struggling to shell out to watch the crap produced for most of the season.
Not entirely sure where those figures have been obtained from. As the club has been reluctant for several years now to publish transfer fees I'd be surprised if managers salaries were particularly as he has not been with us for a full accounting year. If it is, it represents a shocking lack of return for the money invested. We need to be debating this at the end of the season though once we have seen where we end up and what the key players, including Hughes do as a result.
cheers nines joint 4th highest paid manager in england sure that helps make up for some of the mental torment he is being put under
