Unfortunately Hughes has a lot to do with very little time

3 points next Saturday is crucial and at the moment I just can't see where our goals are going to come from

We desperately need 4 or 5 quality signings (particularly with Ali out), but we are now in mid January with no additions (I'm ignoring Macheda - he's not, in my view, the quality we need). True, very often signings are made late in January, but this is looking worryingly late for us

Maybe I'm just feeling a bit down because it's a long journey home......

Of course! He's borrowing the script from NW about what to say at the end of a lost game, when he's feeling uneasy. Sheesh. So what's different? I saw dumb substitutions and a lack of imagination from Hughes, a fear in taking a chance.

I don't think we were unlucky, personally. No bite up front, so got what we deserved.

Yappy, Neil wouldn't have played 2 up front and would have probably brought Hall and Orr on!

It didn't work to well with the 2 that did play. We were overwhemed in midfield today, if we had played with 5 there, but with bodies getting forward to support 1 striker I think we would have done better. But I hear MH nearly always plays 4 4 2. Given that playing both HH and JB up front seems strange to me, they are both target men type of players, surely playing one of them with DJ, Macheda, SWP or someone quicker and sharper in the box with the Target man is a better option?

Game over as soon as Newcastle scored as far as i was concerned. Betty couldnt hit a barn door with a football at this level and so it proved. If we dont beat Wigan trips to all our usual haunts beckon next season.

Does anyone know why we are not starting with Campbell???
He is a hungry player and someone who can get a goal from nothing, I think he deserves a chance over Bothroyd now.

Thank you! So well put. He shouldn't care how he feels personally, he should care how the fans feel. And if the fans aren't happy, then he shouldn't be.

Not 100%, as some people are speculating. Probably not up to his maximum speed? He could probably still score, hang around the goal, and in fact, personally, I would rather have him sniffing around than SWP who always seem to draw offsides.

    Agree.

He'll get a great reception at the Bridge on April 28 regardless; could be a tough day for you guys if we need three points to secure CL football and you need a point to stay up.
