I reckon that this will be a pivotal moment in the race for the Champions League places. Theoretically Chelsea could be 3rd and Newcastle 4th by the end of the next two games though the chances of this happening are very small. Arsenal games: City (h) and Wolves (a) Chelsea games: Wigan (h) and Fulham (a) Newcastle games: Swansea (a) and Bolton (h) Spurs games: Sunderland (a) and Norwich (h) These games are crucial for the champions league places. Should be very interesting to see what happens at the end of them all. I personally think we will pick up 6 points and others a maximum of 3 meaning we would gain ground but we'll see what happens.
I think Arsenal will get 4pts Newcastle will get 2pts Spuds will get 3pts If we get 6 it will be very interesting.
Arsenal will get 4 points. Newcastle will get 3 points. Spuds will get 2 points. Chelsea's tricky. I'm confident we'll win against Wigan but Fulham is always tough one to call for us. I'll go for a draw against Fulham and four points overall. So we'll be five behind Arsenal, 3 behind the Spuds and a point ahead of Newcastle. I also thorughly expect us to make full use of our squad over the two games, so expecting to see Bertrand get a run out.
Plus he's 67, not sure how long he intends to stay in the game for at this stage of his life. Brilliant job he's done though
i wouldn't mind to much if newcastle pip chelsea, the geordies aint a bad bunch and they would certainly appreciate it !! i just hope arsenal have a massive implosion
Agree, if Newcastle got in at Spurs or Arsenal's expense I'd split my sides laughing considering both seem to think they are set in stone for 3rd and 4th and haven't taken Newcastle seriously all season.
Tbf I don't think anyone has - even Newcastle themselves. You ask Pardew or any of the 'experts' on whether or not Newcastle have a chance and they all say 'no probably not' - for a lot of the fans, the 'race for 3rd and 4th' has always been between Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea with Newcastle constantly expected to fall away.
