http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/hudd-signs-up-for-ledley-xi-060514/? Nice to see him speak well of a club legend and sounds like he was a good mentor. I'm guessing Ledley will be injured for the game.
Looking at the rest of the squad it's hardly gonna be full on, blood and thunder. But even so I'm amazed he's been given the Brucey go ahead. He just better not pick up an injury.
He'll probably just play 45mins at an even more casual tempo than usual. He clearly thinks a lot of King, so fair play.
It was probably difficult for Bruce, don't allow him and risk him being sulking to cup final day or let him play. Granted Hudd should be satisfied with the Cup final but I imagine for what will probably be a 45 minute warm up game its worth risking him as it may keep him fresh
There will be no tackling as such, it is no more than a training game, which he would be going anyhow.
It would be more dangerous walking down Anlaby rd ffs. More strenuous too. He'll do 45 mins I imagine, at an even more leisurely pace than in a training game, put in a few pin point passes and score a screamer. Fair play to him for wanting to do it.
Who are they playing against?? If its an Arsenal select. Then no ****ing way!!! clemence is playing too. Be a disaster this. Shouldnt be allowed.
Stephen Clemence playing as well (city reserve team manager), and Berbatov which I wouldn't really have expected
It's Spurs vs a Guest XI. This is the Guest XI so far: Ledley King Paul Robinson Paul Stalteri Stephen Carr Stephen Clemence Tom Huddlestone Ruel Fox David Ginola Darren Anderton Teddy Sheringham Peter Crouch Dimitar Berbatov
Understand all of the playing down of how physical it will be, but it isn't a routine game and we have a HUGE game looming that we are already undergunned for. Really can't see how this can be condoned as anything other that an appearance and a wave, as it tempts fate.
I didnt read the link macca. That as bad. Hudd will be playing against the players he thinks/knows he's better than. Point to prove?? its a definite no from me.
Do people really think Thudd will be going all guns for it? He does know we have an FA Cup final too, you know. People getting worked up about this way too much.
I don't think anyone is getting worked over anything, simply expressing quite calm opinions is all. A game of football is that and it is unpredictable; an injury in training is an occupational hazard, an injury in a show game would be very hard to understand. It will probably all work out fine, but if **** happens the reaction from the supporters will be a tad more heated than 'worked up'. Why take the risk, they are professionals and there is a big, big game next in line?
This is Spurs we're talking about - they would be mortified if they did anything that would harm our chances of beating Arsenal.
