    MANAGER

    Early career
After retiring, Corberán subsequently started working at Villarreal CF's C and B-teams, as a fitness coach.[5] In 2011, after the appointment of Juan Carlos Garrido in the first team, he was named fitness coach of the main squad.[6]

In February 2012, Corberán signed for Saudi Arabia team Al-Ittihad alongside head coach Raúl Caneda after Pep Guardiola's recommendation of Corberán to the Arab team.[7] Whilst at the club, he was a fitness coach and helped get the club to the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League.[8]

In July 2013, Corberán was appointed manager of AD Alcorcón's Juvenil A squad, but was relieved from his duties and subsequently replaced by José María Rico the following January.[9] In 2014, he joined Al-Nassr FC and was named Caneda's assistant.[10] They were runners-up in the Saudi Arabia Super Cup, and reached the group phase in the AFC Champions League and were also finalists in the King's Cup.[8]

    Doxa
On 29 November 2016, Corberán had his first senior managerial experience after being appointed in charge of Doxa Katokopias FC in the Cypriot First Division.[11] The following 24 January, however, he was sacked.[12]

    Ermis Aradippou
On 30 January 2017, Corberán was appointed the new head coach of Ermis Aradippou FC also in the Cypriot top tier,[8][13] where he helped guide them to a seventh place finish before being replaced by Nicos Panayiotou.

    Leeds United
On 21 June 2017, Corberán was announced as the new Leeds United under-23 manager, replacing the departed Jason Blunt.[2][14]

After the appointment of new head coach Marcelo Bielsa in June 2018, Corberán was promoted to first team coach as well as continuing his role as the head coach of the Under 23s.[1] In October 2018, Corberán was described as "very talented" by Bielsa, with Bielsa stating he values Corberán's opinion "more than his own".[15]

Corberán's side won the PDL Northern League 2018–19 season by winning the league, they then became the national Professional Development League Champions by beating Birmingham City in the final.[16]

In June 2019, it was reported that Corberán would be offered the head coach job at Spanish side Cultural Leonesa,[17] but he decided to stay at Leeds to remain under Bielsa.[18]

After the English professional football season was paused in March 2020 due to Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on association football, the season was resumed during June, Corberán was part of Marcelo Bielsa's backroom staff in his dual role of 1st Team Coach and Under 23's Head Coach as Leeds earned promotion to the Premier League and also become the EFL Championship Champions for the 2019-20 season in July after the successful resumption of the season.[19]

    Huddersfield Town
In July 2020, Corberán was offered the position of head coach at Huddersfield Town, which he accepted and his appointment was confirmed on 23 July.[20]

Possibly a shade early in the season to talk about a 6 pointer, but this is a classic match between two sides who could be said to be in crisis. The unhappiness of North Enders on Social Media. Two defeats have not helped neither has some iffy defending, however get the feeling our problems are slightly less than those in Huddersfield, a 5-1 defeat against Fulham on Saturday when the visitors scored two with 10 men
Their manager is under pressure while ours is not although a longish run of indifferent results may change that
Expect changes tonight especially in the back three(never liked playing three at the back however it seems it's the way Frankie wishes to go
By the sound of it we made an average Reading side look good on Saturday, we need a positive reaction tonight.
Lat two times I've been to this particular part of Yorkshire we have let in three, if that happens tonight it will be a massive warning on the season ahead.

Both Preston North End and Huddersfield Town will be looking for their first victory of the Championship season when they come head to head on Tuesday evening.

Frankie McAvoy’s side are on the road for the third time in succession as they travel to the John Smith’s Stadium for a 7.45pm kick-off following away trips to Mansfield Town and Reading.

    PNE Team News

Head coach Frankie McAvoy is hoping to have forward Ched Evans back available for selection after he missed the weekend’s defeat to Reading through injury.

Declan Rudd was on the bench for that fixture after making his return from a concussion injury, and he is set to be included again this weekend.

Tom Bayliss is back in training after returning from isolation, but Tom Barkhuizen will still be missing.

    The Opposition

Huddersfield head into the game after a difficult weekend, on the end of a 5-1 defeat at home to recently-relegated Fulham.

Before that fixture they opened the season with a draw away at Derby County, with Naby Sarr’s equaliser just before half-time earning his side a point.

Sarr tends to operate at the middle of a back three in a 3-5-2, which head coach Carlos Corberan often opts for, with Jonathan Hogg anchoring midfield and the experience of Jordan Rhodes one of the striking options available.

    Key Stats

Preston North End just edge the head-to-head record between these two sides over the years, with the Lilywhites winning 36 of the meetings, compared to Huddersfield’s 35.

The Terriers’ top scorer last season, Josh Koroma, netted eight goals in an injury-hit campaign, and now back fully-fit will be hoping to impress further this term.

In the past three seasons, PNE have enjoyed their time in front of goal against Huddersfield, scoring 13 goals in the last six meetings.

    Our Last Meeting

North End’s last game against Huddersfield came in February at Deepdale, and they came out 3-0 winners on a dominant afternoon.

Brad Potts opened the scoring halfway through the first half and very almost got another in the second half, striking the crossbar from 25 yards.

PNE then bagged two brilliant goals, turning the Terriers around on the counter attack, with Ched Evans and Scott Sinclair finishing off great team moves.

James Linington is the man taking charge on Tuesday evening, with Daniel Leach and Rob Smith assisting, and James Bell will be fourth official.

Linington oversaw three of PNE’s fixtures last season, one of which was the aforementioned home victory against Huddersfield, while the most recent game he had the whistle for was the 0-0 draw away at Stoke City.

He has refereed one game so far this campaign, showing five yellow cards in the fixture between Coventry City and Nottingham Forest on the opening weekend of the Championship season.

NE dominated the first half but fell away in the second. The Terriers only 2 shots on goal and one was by Van Den Berg! Hughes hasn't played well for NE. Why play him as one of 3 half backs? Browne is behind the pace. Hopefully Olosunde will recover and a decent striker found.

    MATCH

Were do you start first half, better of two average sides, with newly recalled Josh Earl being head and shoulders above anyone else our best player showing the talent which had brought him to the first team squad two years ago. Got in some great positions down the left wing. The home side looked understandibly shaky after the hammering they got on Saturday, they had changed the keeper andhe looked uncertain in the early stages, we created a couple of chances both to Evans one was volleyed just over and the keeper saved the other.
Town started to get some joy also down the left with Thomas causing us problems but Iversen had little to do lthough one shot from O'Brien took a wicked deflection which sent the Dane the wrong way just going the wrong side of the post but as we got towards half time we were sort of in control a nice move led to Whiteman firing in an effort straight at the keeper whoc saved comfortably.
Town were there for the taking, just needed composure up front.

Second half was pants to say the least, early Town pressure and a cross which sailed across our 6 yard box with no one on the end of it, we created little or nothing cannot recall us having a shot as the faithful in the stands from both clubs started to get restless, boos were heard when Town took a cornetr and it ended up as a back pass to Nicholls in the home goal, they had brought on Campbell instead of Ward at half time he contributed little, as the match wore on it looked nailed on 0-0 which in these desperate times I would have taken. Holmes came on and suddenly he did make a difference and we finally manged to get the ball in the net however it was an old goal. Holmes was in on goal to give Van Den Berg cedit he did well to get back and defend the attack however he got his angles wrong and it whistled past Iversen and landed in the bottom corner.
Town hit the post cleared to safety as our confidence drained quickly away, tried as we might we could have played until Christmas and not come close, the final whistle was met with a mutinous atmoosphere in the away end, trouble brewing, things need to change and quickly.

Huddersfield head coach Carlos Corberan said:

"That was clearly a necessary win. I must praise the spirit of the team. We lost [Matty] Pearson and then [Danny] Ward, who felt unwell, so all three subs were necessary.

"We didn't make many mistakes and we defended strongly to get the three points.

"Defeats like the one against Fulham can create insecurity in players, so it was important to play tonight without mistakes. We suffered together to keep the key clean sheet."

    Preston manager Frankie McAvoy said:

"Their coach said defensively we were so difficult to play against and I'm gobsmacked we have lost that game to be honest.

"I knew the game was there for us to try and win and we were trying to get Emil [Riis Jakobsen] on and they went and got the goal, which is frustrating.

"The disappointing thing is we didn't work the goalkeeper enough when we were on top. I'm just so disappointed we have sent the fans home with nothing. They didn't deserve that. Football can be cruel at times."

    MACS VIEW

At this rate we will be playing at the New Lawn, Nailswoth against Forest Green next season, we lost to a side who didn't have a shot on target mind you we only had two, they were there for the taking and we couldn't even do that, shudder to think what will happen when we actually play sides who can be classed as decent.
The worst part about was the 15 minutes after the goal when we looked to have no clues as what to do, worrying
