This ^ Got to say that McCann shoehorning Wilks and Kane into the team has seemingly completely ****ed up any chance that we might have had of reaching the top six, we looked totally clueless tonight.
None Fourth disgraceful League performance in a row. Lack of creativity in mid-field is destroying us. No pace, no urgency, no ambition.
1.Irvine had a go when he came on. 2. Long who made a couple of decent saves 3..Eaves also made a difference when he came on. I've haven't witnessed a first half as quiet as the one tonight for a long long time. It was like a pre season friendly atmosphere wise. I've been at noisier reserve games. Classic after the Lord Mayors Parade performance. The ground looked awful compared to Saturday, what the players think when they run out to that god only knows. Personally I thought Wilks had a decent first half. Took the defender on and got to the bye line a couple of times. Magennis on the other hand gave the ball away for the first goal and looked totally uninterested throughout. Grosicki had then in knots for twenty minutes but every time took the wrong option. Then he faded away as usual. We finally got up a head of steam in the second half when McCann brought Eaves and Irvine on, equalised and looked to be going onto win the game......until that lengthy injury which totally took the wind out of our sails. Huddersfield re grouped and we stood back and let them come at us. Missing De Wijis massively and I think we might have seen the last of Jarrod Bowen tonight.
He (Wilks) can't be match fit. OK, you get match fit by playing matches, but not when shoehorning him in contributes to upsetting the balance of the side. It smacks of either stupidity &/or blatant favouritism. McCann called it wrong from the start last night. Might as well sell Bowen & Grosicki, IF there are buyers willing to pay anything like reasonable money (I doubt there is given how Bowen's performed this month <I know, not entirely down to him>). Then stop talking silly talk about playoffs and accept the reality that we are in major transition. I like the look of some of the signings, obviously buying for the future, and just hope it comes together after another window or two, and needed time for these young-uns with clear potential to bed in and develop. And prices need to reduce massively in the meantime.
