Huddersfield want Paul Gallagher according to the local press in Huddersfield. I think for his sake he should go as some of the stick he gets from the fans is a disgrace at times. For no reason he gets abuse. He has proven he is a decent player(with faults) but with Ben Marshall, Gally wont get many starts. But if we did go would we need to get in someone? Or would Knockaert and Dyer be able to cover the right wing along with Ben Marshall?
I think he has no choice but to go. I was hoping the fans would get behind him and give him another chance this season but the reception he recieved the other day was appalling. He dosen't stand a chance of performing here when he's getting booed before he's kicked a ball. I hope he gets a decent move a manages to rediscover a bit of form. You can be sure he'll score a screamer against us if he does move. I do think we'd need more cover though, if Marshall/Knockaert got injured we'd be a bit thin out wide.
Ahh you beat me to it Proud, I just heard this rumour elsewhere and was about to start a thread. It would be a good move for him I think. Gallagher has always been a bit of an enigma, he's not a striker, but he doesn't have the work rate or tackling ability to be a winger. Maybe one of a front free would suit him best. I have always rated him, and think the fact he gets booed is poor, so good luck to him if he does go. At the start of the season, all my mates were doing their championship fantasy football teams, and the majority had Paul Gallagher in it as they always thought he was a good player. I instantly told them to take him out for Marshall I guess if you don't watch full games and only catch highlights, and see some of his spectacular goals, you only see the goods bits and not the bad side!
@FourthOfficial_ Looks like Leicester City will be busy trying to shift some players before Friday #LCFC I reckon we will try and sell Gallagher and Beckford And will try and shift one of Waghorn or Schlupp on loan
.. never been a huge fan but nevertheless wish him all the best .. and yes, he needs to move if he wants to play regularly.
We didnt have him in league 1. It was the play off year we had him so we do know he does have the ability at this level. I havent got a bloody clue what the hell has happened with him. I think he needs to move on if he is going to find his old form again
He had a pretty bad injury - and it can sometimes take quite a while to get your confidence back after that ... he looked a good prospect in his earliest days with us ...
I predict his season at huddersfield... 21 games, 6 goals...3 pens. 1 free kick. won't head one ball, will make three half hearted tackles, will pick up several niggling injuries..which will keep him sidelined...will have them laughing down the training ground with his practical jokes.... will win nowt...
He should go, our fans are disgraceful booing him before a ball is kicked. However, i feel he should go to a club where they will play him asa striker. He is not a winger.
Gally wont ever cut it in this league as a striker. You need either pace or strength and Gally has neither. A winger is the only way he will make it in this league
I think the main problem was he spent too much time in gym doing weights. He has lost his pace as a results The one thing that infuriates me is his shooting. Every time it goes a mile over the bar. Hasnt he worked it out yet that he cant shoot so he should either stop doing it or spend more time on the training ground
I see gally a little like Fryatt - very good player but totally ineffective if the team dont play the way he likes to play. I think he will make it as a striker in this league. At an ipswitch style club, but not as the main striker. Like just behind a someone who is both big and fast. And he will feed him, and the other one will knock it off for long shots. I feel he needs to be loved though.
Gally always put a shift in. Yes he had faults but anyone who gives there all in a Leicester shirt should never be booed.
It's a shame. Gallagher is quite clearly a talented player. Near enough 30 goals in 3 seasons from the wing is not a bad return. He takes a cracking freekick and is probably the best penalty taker we've ever had. If he was to get more involved in games and man up then he'd be a fantastic player. But he just doesnt have the physicality to cut it in this division and for that reason I would wave him goodbye. If you do go Gally, then thankyou.
@StringerSport Suggestion Paul Gallagher's attracted the interest if Huddersfield ahead of tomorrow's transfer deadline #lcfc Pearson declined comment
Totally agree with the sentiment ... only problem is I don't think I've ever seen Gallagher 'give his all' ... and therein lies the rub ... but personally I would never boo an individual player ...
Unfortunately he is neither a striker or a winger ... if we had rules similar to american football where tou can bring on a 'kicker' for the set plays, then gally would be in his element ... sadly he is not IMHO worth a starting place either as a wide player or a striker ... might make a decent central midfield player if he could ever get his work ethic right and stop doing 'flicks' whenever threatened by contact ...
