HRT will use Williams's gearboxes and KERS during 2012 season

HRT will be continuing their partnership with Williams next year which will again allow HRT to use Williams gear box, and new for next year their KERS and its related technology.

You never know, HRT might be a real team one day, and ironically one of the first mid field teams they'll have to topple is Williams themselves.

The only way williams can go is up. They have money making activities outside of F1 now so money in the team shouldnt be an issue. They may have a decent line up with Raikkonen announcing he will sign in abu dhabi. Renault power next year. New team members and ousted the useless ones like Sam Michaels. You wait they will be much improved next year.

HRT, Marrussia and Caterham will be much closer to the pack next year too all with KERS power

Would be nice to see Williams fighting for points regularly again, and having the newbies picking up points finally.

It's sad to see how Williams have turned out, and I don't see them getting any better soon. Sorry to say but I would expect Caterham to be ahead of them next season.

This will work out better for HRT than Williams.

Personally I think it's all down to the cosworth engine which is in 3 of the worst 4 teams. They also have one of the worst, if not the worst, driver line-ups of all teams this season. I don't think their aero package is that bad. I'd prefer it if they didn't get bck up there myself, nt that I have anything against Williams or his team, it's just his high pitched crackly voice really grates on my nerves like chalk on a blackboard and I know if they do well they will be constantly interviewing him.

I must be one of the few people thatwants to see HRT do well, I like duct tape racing teams, takes me back to my youth.

This is obviously an especially good thing for HRT, but it is also good for Williams since it allows their technology to be put to greater 'test'; therefore achieving more potential for development in the long term.

In addition, in spite of Williams' very poor showing of late, I do not see them coming under threat from HRT. Not at all. (Unless they hire Raikkonen ;))

I know Team Lotus/Caterham have a KERS agreement, and now HRT, have I missed the announcement on Virgin/Marussia using the mclaren unit? All I can find is this article where Glock says no.

Also more worryingly for Marussia, he reckons the 2012 car won't be a major step forward, whilst Caterham and HRT seem to be making gains.

HRT are improving every race, with HRT.. they may be able to challenge the lotuses (caterhams) next year.

Does this mean HRT will get their act together and get the car tested BEFORE qualifying this year?

It's turning into an F1 tradition! Makes Virgin (Marussia) look all the more lacklustre though.

If Marussia are anywhere near the pace next year after this I will be very surprised.

One would hope that the McLaren technical partnership will start to bear fruit at some point next year.

If HRT's line-up for next year is as good as their current one they may be able to get a point or two.

I expect Marussia will have to acquire KERS too to avoid getting left behind. They appear to be the only of the new teams not to be moving forward this year. But, as Miggins says, Cosworth need to step up a gear too.
