HRT chiefs have denied thier F1 car is being designed by Caterham. It was reported early on during the season that the F112 was being designed in cologne in the former Toyota factory, well that Factory was bought out by Caterham boss Fernandes not long ago. hmm... This rumour also ties in with the Fact that HRT are yet to announce an engine supplier for 2012 with rumours they will switch from Cosworth to Renault. The team also believe the crash test before the car is allowed to test will be done by February. So will HRT be the Caterham B team?
Of the 'new' teams, I definitely think Caterham have enough about them to progress into a competent midfield team, but a B team? Well I guess you can't fault ambition! Perhaps HRT are after outside assistance with adapting to Renault engines, and only Caterham wanted to? I really can't see why though, seeing as HRT may well be Caterham's nearest rivals.
HRT at least appear to be getting their act together now. We'll have to wait and see; I think of the newer teams only Caterham will be on the pace of the midfield teams next season, with HRT and Virgin scrapping it out at the back for 11th and 12th in the Constructors...
I think we need to see if there car is ready on time and not 10 seconds off the pace at the first race before we can really judge that! Although, I do get what you mean!
