This weeks PGA Tour band-wagon moves on to Irving in Texas for the Byron Nelson Classic. One of the more open courses on the Tour, and this reflects on the stats the previous winners have posted...

In the last 4 years the winner of the event has not featured in the top 10 for Driving accuracy, Fairways hit or Distance Nearest to the pin. But what he has featured well in is his putting stats... So you will need someone who will score well when he gets the chance...

No real rhyme or reason for going with this lot below other than they are putting really well at the moment...

    Ryan Palmer @ 40/1...
    Freddie Jacobsen @ 50/1...
    Charles Howell III @ 66/1...
    James Driscoll @ 250/1...

All done in the usual £2.50 e/w... PadPow pays 1/4 odds top 5...
    <cheers>

For no particular reason I have gone for Robert Garrigus 66/1 and John Huh 66/1 and now I cross my fingers and hope for the best.

Ffs I went to settle in and watch the Golf and for over an hour all I got was Tim Herron, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Jason Dufner, Brendan Todd and an Eagle chip from Stephen Ames...give me a break, I have nothing against those mentioned but there is like 25 others stacked up 1 or 2 behind the lead and hardly any coverage of their movements....I mean HUH?!

You wanna be glad that Tiger isn't playing...!!! It is this obsession that they have with following what they think will be the best group of the day for tv figures but not what is good for the golfing fan...

Well done to Brendon Todd on his first Tour win of his career last night when he won the Byron Nelson Classic. He looked very composed last night closing out what for him would have been a very big deal. A few things helped him win this tournament, scoring -14 under helps, but he was ranked 1st in both Driving Accuracy and Strokes Gained By Putting... Get that mix right and you will always be there or there abouts... Though his longest drive of the weekend only ranked at 230th in the whole field...!!! Drive for show, putt for dough...!!!

    Our picks...

    T3 - Charles Howell III, -10
    T16 - John Huh, -5
    T16 - Morgan Hoffmann, -5
    T22 - Ryan Palmer, -4
    T29 - Brendon de Jonge, -3
    T29 - Keegan Bradley, -3
    T29 - Robert Garrigus, -3
    T37 - Jordan Spieth, -2
    T64 - James Driscoll, +3
    70 - Luke Guthrie, +5

I managed to get some return for Charles Howell, <ok> but unfortunately no one else did...:(

On to the Colonial in Fort Worth Texas for our next Tour event...<cheers>
