Howson is a Leeds fan, he's been with the club for many years and when he quits playing, I'm 100% positive he will be a regular at ER supporting his team. What then is there to stop him NOT moving to Norwich or any club during this transfer window and informing Bates that he can go and **** off. Howson would then be banned by Bates and would not play for the club again, whilst he is Chairman. Come the summer and his contract ends, he can go where he wants for nowt. Bates gets feck all and looks the prick he is, Howson will be fit and desperate to play football again and will be a Leeds hero for ever.
I think you may have a deluded idea of the modern footballers concept of loyalty. Howson will be kissing the Norwich badge at the first opportunity to endear himself to the new hands that feed him. It'll be a cold day in hell before a footballer puts morality and decency ahead of his own pay cheque.
Although I don't see Howson as a prima donna who can not manage without his agent! I would imagine the only reason he will sit it out will be to get a larger signing on fee! I don't blame him, he has limited playing career and needs to make his money quickly before the current climate catches up with football (and the reality hits home)! If we offered him a fair wage with decent chances for some self realisation and success, then I think he would stay! But do we really want him to? How many on here were slating him just a few months ago? If I was a Leeds player getting that sort of abuse, I might start to concider my options as well! Stay at Leeds on peanuts with little chance of promotion and the fans acting like they have a right to the Premiership! Who turn on you as soon as you have a couple of bad results (as we do with Grayson). We need to get behind the players, otherwise Delph and co will not come anywhere near us, and the rest may follow him out!
To be Fair OneLeeds, many were slating him. I thought he was having an off season as well until pretty much just before his injury I started to realise that he wasn't. Just because he wasn't playing in that free role doesnt mean he wasnt playing well. Any player that plays that free role is going to look exceptionally good (providing they are half decent) but he started playing deeper and allowing clayton to get more time on the ball, it makes clayton look better than him unless you really look at the actual effort Howson is putting in off the ball to make it look so easy for clayton. But you do need to 'Concider' your options, right nash??
To be fair Ive always maintained that Howson was quality for us, The problem with the 4-4-2 role is hes quiet and can go whole games without doing anything! He is amazing at the top of the diamond can score goals, head fairly strong in his tackle and he really offers something when our backs are against the wall! because he played so many games people underestimated how much we need him because we didn't realise what it was like to be without him! the last few games have shown this!
