Just wanted to swing by and see how you lads and lasses thought your season was going? Not Wumming, just wanted a general opinion. I'm going to hold my hands up and say I was wrong about Cambiasso signing, he's still got the quality and I thought he was past it, but fair play he's been cracking. Do you think you'll lose anybody in the transfer window? We've been told there's going to be minimal activity at Hull City, with perhaps only 1 or two in, you reckon your owners will try and turn it around and bring some players in? Or can you afford to do a WBA and go down and up for a few seasons (something we certainly can't afford to do)? I'd like to think Nige would make a fist of it, but you never know. I think out of the promoted teams you're the best equipped to stay up, Burnley aren't going to keep surprising teams and QPR will lose Austin in January or through injury. Plus the gap between the bottom 7 is very small, it's easy for anybody to get dragged in at this point. I've been a bit underwhelmed by our season given the signings we made in Summer, but there have been positive signs that we're heading in the right direction over the last few weeks. I'm usually up to speed with Leicester's goings on, but I've been really busy with work so I've not seen much of it. Are you happy with the way you've played? Any players doing better/worse than expected? Who do you want in January? Who would you see leave? Ultimately, do you think you can turn the season around a la Palace last season? Good luck (aside from our two games of course) for what I imagine will be a tough season, I'm looking forward to going to the KP this season as I've not really enjoyed our last few visits there (results wise).
Phew, that's a lot of questions, although the first question mark is not a question. I'm far too unintelligent to answer what is a good post other than to say the obvious, bright start but not going to swimmingly lately. But with Nige at the helm we will be fine.
Started off brilliantly, then the entire team went ****e and now we're being let down by individual errors. We've got absolutely no luck at the moment.
Nobody has hammered us (yet) and we tend to be in the games right up to the final whistle. As stated above, a little bit of lady luck on our side and cutting out some silly individual errors, hopefully we can turn things around and scrape 17th place come May.
Well, do you think it's a false position; will you finish higher or was the Manchester Utd win your season peak? You've played better than us in most of the games I've seen. You had a similar run at the start of the season to the ones we just had in terms of fixtures, and you got more points than we managed in that spell I think.
Really? I would say I've watched pretty much all the teams so far, and if I wasn't a Leicester fan, we'd be the bottom of my list, possibly alongside Villa, who've scored even fewer goals than us (going to be a right stinker tomorrow, surely!). Even the likes of Stoke and West Ham, who are normally in the 'horrible football but grind out results' category are more entertaining to watch than us. Honestly, I think we deserve to be where we are, unfortunately.
I think in terms of performance, that's the best a Leicester City side has played in my lifetime. It was always going to be the peak. I don't think we're as bad as the table suggests provided Wes Morgan and Kasper Schmeichel buck their ideas up. Between them they're probably at fault for about the last dozen goals, they're in diabolical form. To be honest. I think there are 6 teams that are in the lottery. Leicester Burnley QPR Hull West Brom Crystal Palace 3 of those 6 will go down.
It's difficult to play any kind of decent football when confidence is this low. Players tend to hide and not want the ball which makes it even worse for everyone else because there's no passing options. We are now in the position where we need to grind out draws in order to get rid of the losing habit. Unfortunately it isn't going to get any easier after the Villa game. We could be adrift by the start of the new year unless we suddenly start to get a bit of luck. Maybe the fact that Aguero and Toure look doubtful starters for next week after tonight's match could be the boost we're looking for. Only Milner, Nasri, Dzeko, Navas, Silva etc to worry about now!
