CC is the best and only ground (rather than stadium) left in the Prem. The atmos and location is the best in London, especially when you (out)played us last season. And are there any images I can look at? Ps Shame we have no Boxing Day/Easter fixtures this season!! Grrr
Depends on what kind of atmosphere you're thinking of. It's not the loudest crowd, certainly - although the volume has been steadily increasing. Fulham has a great family atmosphere with a large percentage of the crowd made up of women and children. The beatiful walk through Bishops Park adds to the experience, as do the riverside views and ambience of the area. I think it's time to move beyond the idea that a 'good' atmosphere is a group of men shouting at the pitch.
I agree with silk I feel the Cottage has a good vibrant atmosphere, it's different to West Ham or Spurs where they have a raucous partisan crowd where the atmosphere tends to be poisonous (at least when we go there anyway)

Agree. Some of the chavier elements of 606 think best equals most poisonous, angry. It isn't. Getting behind your team (rather than constantly singing songs about the opposition, or a team you are not even playing) when they need you with a sense of humour is better. If you ask players, they appreciate fans getting behind their team more than abusing others. And the second half at the Cottage last season, the atmosphere was the noisiest away match all season. The Fulham fans were the noisiest I heard them for years, although it being a boozy Bank holiday night game helped!
Okay, I get it now - the thread is actually about "Atmosphere or Noise on Match Day". The title of the thread is a bit misleading though. It's a pity Captain Morgan is on holiday, he'd love a debate on this. [You should read his e-book on the influence a crowd can have on players, London EC]. If we're talking about last season, the games that stick out in my mind at the Cottage for atmosphere and noise were the second halves against Man City and Arsenal. As silkship says it's not just about making a noise though. With Fulham I think it's also a culture thing - can't properly explain what I mean except through many fond memories having banter with away fans walking through Bishop's Park and on the tube. To me an important part of match day is sharing views (good and bad) and being able to share a joke as well (give and take). I guess respect come into it as well.
In which case, all the better for it - much more fun having an excuse to reminisce. Talking of which reminds me of going through the Park among some West Ham supporters after that awful defeat to them the New Year before last and all one of them could do was constantly chant (to me) "Alan Taylor, Alan Taylor". Despite being miserable I couldn't help laughing that he dredged that one up (1975 for goodness sake).
