Just saw the sad news that he's passed away. He was a cultured player and a brilliant manager. Deepest Sympathy to his family, friends and all at EFC.
QPR Fan in peace. Really sad news about Howard Kendall. As a travelling QPR fan in my younger years, I used to love coming up to Goodison to see EFC under HK. Great side to watch, great fans too. I remember getting back to our car after one match and about 10 Everton fans came out of a pub and me and my mates thought we were in for a kicking! Couldn't have been more wrong, we ended up having a load of beers and staying over at their houses. Carisbrooke Arms I seem to remember. Anyway, I digress. RIP Howard Kendall.
Absolutely. One of the first names I associated with Everton FC as a kid in the 80's. Legend completely. (But this minutes' applause pisses me off! - It's a minute of respect and should be silent respect for a death of someone so close to the club IMO but maybe I'm too old fashined)
He was everything that epitomises your club & your current manager is a true gentleman and top bloke in the same mould as Howard .
Absolutely devastated. Heard the news on the way to the game today. The game meant nothing tbh. Howard was someone who brought me some of the happiest moments in my life and his loss has genuinely knocked me for six. He had some tough times and I thought he'd seen off his demons so I've no idea what happened to him. Not ashamed to say I've shed some tears today. My thoughts are with his family. Thanks for everything HK, a true Blue legend. R.I.P.
Thanks mate, good times. Were you up the day you shared the Park End with the Sunderland fans? You beat us 0-3 like, not HK's finest hour
Like MC - I had fondness for Everton in 60's &70 - defnately one of footballs no nonsense quality gentlemen RIP
As I said on the United board, Howard Kendall was a giant of English football during the 80's, the period that I grew up on football. His playing days were before my time but I understand he was a very good player. Every club has its icons and it's genuinely upsetting for the fans when one of them goes. RIP.
Odd that Bill hasn't commented about the sad passing of HK, makes the rumours about his own current state of health sound more likely to be sadly true
Sad loss for you guys, he was a great footballer and manager. I was at the 1968 FA cup final and HK stood out for me on that day, even though it was not the best of finals. Condolences to all from Hull City forum.

Great turnout for Howard today, the streets around Goodison and on the route his coffin took and an array of Blues past and present and many others from the game of football attended his funeral at Liverpool Cathedral to pay their respects. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
