-----------------Ches------------------- Jenk--------Kos---------Vermaelen----Santos --------------Song--Arteta-------------- Walcott---------Arshavin--------Gervinho -----------------Podolski---------------- my fit starting team... with wilshere, sagna, and Giround featuring later
Arshavin ??!?!? Why? I'd go with AOC or even Aneke over him...but hoping Cazorla is in by the start of the season Feel Giroud should get to start as well
Arshavin because I still believe hes class IF we played him as a playmaker in the middle !.. and i didnt include Cazorla because he isnt our player YET, or Giround because I read he wont start the season.. and i just feel Wenger will bring on AOC as a sub for start of season too..
start the season like...(with our injuries. ..and No more signings) --------------------Sczezney---------------------- Kos-------Mert---------Vermaelen-------Santos -------------Song---------Arteta---------------- Walcott-------------Rosicky--------------TheOX --------------------Podolski------------------------ with everyone fit and assuming RVP leaves.(adding Carzorla) --------------------Sczezney---------------------- Sagna-------Mert---------Vermaelen-----Santos -------------Song---------Wilshere---------------- TheOX-------------Podolski--------------Carzorla ---------------------Giroud------------------------ and if RVP doesnt get sold.... --------------------Sczezney---------------------- Sagna-------Mert---------Vermaelen-----Santos -------------Song---------Wilshere---------------- TheOX-------------Podolski--------------Carzorla -------------------VanPersie------------------------ Bench: Giroud, Walcott, Diaby, Rosicky, Koscielney, Gibbs. you have to say that's a pretty tasty team.(with a strong bench)
To be honest though i'm really hoping those Nuri Sahin rumours are true. I personally think he is EXACTLY what we need.
I really can't see us wanting to play RVP if he stays. It would be detrimental to be playing a player in such a prominent role who doesn't want to be at Arsenal- might as well just stick in Giroud even if he isn't as good. So in your third line up move Podolski to the left, Cazorla to the middle, put Walcott in on the right and have Giroud up front. I can't see Ox starting straight away this season, but he'll definitely be a sub option again and will most likely get a few first team games to try and establish himself once one of our wingers gets injured or unfit. In reference to the OP, if we're not including Santi, then that's pretty much how the lineup is going to be. Just replace Arshavin with Rosicky and I think you've got it.
It depends, if he stays he will want to play and he will want to show the world how good he is. (even if it is just to secure a move) Van Persie has always spoken for his love of London and Arsenal - like fabregas i think he'll be nothing but respectful. his statement may have upset alot of people but i dont think he said anything that was disrespectful. If we sign Carzorla and Sahin I would be happy to let him go because we would have replaced the creative element he gives to the team. However you have to think that when Wenger signed podolski wenger intended to play him WITH Van persie. ..and I have to say its a tasty combination.
I agree, if we get Sahin and Cazorla we would have a brilliant midfield and I hope it comes to fruition. As for RVP, I don't think he'd get much of a good reception from the Arsenal fans if he were to be starting every game and given the preferential treatment we've showed him by building attacks around him etc. To do so would also be bad for our team as it shows we'd rather rely on a guy who doesn't want to be there rather than playing someone else. Pod and RVP would have been brilliant, but unfortunately that idea seems to have imploded to be replaced with Pod/Giroud, who I hope can get us **** loads of goals this season.
The bear doesn't rate "short" CBs. I'd play Kos and Merton together, because while Vermalean is better than Mert, I feel that Mert and Kos compliment each other better.
Please tell me that Arshavin or Gervinho will only ever play in the Carling cup, first couple of rounds!
ALL THE FORMATIONS! so if the rumours are true and... 1. RVP leaves 2. We get in Carzorla and Sahin we could have this squad.... ---------------------Sczeney---------------------- Sagna----Mert/Kos--------Vermaelen----Santos --------Sahin-------Song--------Wilshere-------- --------------------Carzorla----------------------- ----------Giroud--------------Podolski------------ Bench: Arteta, Walcott, Diaby, Mertesacker, Rosicky, OXO, Gibbs. - then there's still Gervinho, Ryo, Arshavin, Djourou, Jenkinson and Ramsey fighting it out. It looks like a huge squad but then we need to consider the sheer amount of injuries we normally get. In reality we need this kind of depth.
i really like that but it does leave us short of width. I would go with chesny sagna verm kos gibbs cazorla sahin wilshere walcott giroud podolski
If RvP stays, it's kinda there or on the Bench!! I'd imagine they'll play a fluid front 3 with constant interchanging. That would be my preference, so the CB's & FB's never know who they'll be up against at any time.
Well no, because Wenger has already stated he intended to play Podolski down the middle 'I think he will play more centrally for us' and he also stated that the German was bought in to 'take the pressure off 'RVP. Therefore to me its seems like he initially intended to play Podolski down the middle with RVP.
So you would advocate a change to a 4-4-2 formation with the inclusion of Podolski? Has there been any trial of that during pre-season at all?
Podolski/Giroud or RVP have not yet played for us this pre-season. I would'nt advocate a flat 4-4-2 but a 4-4-1-1 or 4-2-3-1 could work well. (with Pod just behind Giroud or should we keep him RVP)
