Group 1: Cahill types Bolton will have the upper hand in the negotiations. They will know that Arsenal is desperate and will not go too far down from their initial quote. Meaning we might just have to pay a lot more than if we lost respectably or got a draw. Group 2: Ambitious players (Hazard, M'Vila?) How much would they risk to join a club whose 2/3 star players left the club (one of them to a competitor), and they suffered the heaviest loss in the club's history to Man Utd.? A footballer's career is quite short. How confident can these type of players be that a move to Arsenal would be meaningful progress in their career? Which all means that the best we can hope until Wednesday is that we sign Cahill for whatever amount, and all hope is lost for Hazard in all probability. Hope I am wrong.
it could also help us get some "group 2 players" generally players that good are quite clever so will see it was just a bad result with alot of players missing and/or they'll think they are the player to help change that and relish the challenge and the love etc they'd get!
Well let's see. I wasn't too optimistic on the Hazard signing even before the match. The guy will play CL football even if he remains with Lille and has the opportunity to do his best there and attract uhm... let's say more ambitious clubs. Plus we jacked their signing from AS Monaco, so that could be a factor as well.
