Bolton - They have a good manager (with championship experience) with funds although a lot of players contracts are expiring. I am convinced they will go straight back up again and will get in the automatics Blackburn - They have no fan support while Steve Kean is incharge and have only sold 5,000 season tickets. Most players will go and they don't have funds and I think they will be fighting near the play offs but finishing mid table. Wolves - They are in good shape with good players, have good support and funds. However, we no nothing about Stale Solbaccken and he could be fantastic for all we know. I am still convinced they will get in the play offs at least and will do well. Also looking forward to seeing Hunty back ( if he stays).
I guess it depend if West Ham are still in the Championship next year and whether Sheffield United will be promoted. Could add a bit of strength to the league. How do you think your side will fare?
With the amount of debt Bolton have and all the players with expired contracts I reckon they're in for a much harder season than some are suggesting.
Bolton - depends on their finances / which players they can keep / do they have to have a fire sale? Play off candidates Blackburn - disillusioned fans, questionable whether some players are behind the manager = mid table Wolves - manager an unknown at this level, but if they can keep all of their players they will be contenders - Play offs minimum, possibly automatic
We also should remember that Premier League parachute payments increased last year and all of the teams finished in the top 6.
I think all 3 of them will struggle. I wouldn't be surprised to see BR go down again, think Bolton and Wolves will finish mid-table obscurity. As Naarwich and Saints have shown, it's easier to come up with the momentum of promotion than it is to come down with the doom of relegation. Blackpool were prudent enough in the Prem to keep the squad that came down, doubt these 3 teams will do the same
Firstly I'm glad for our sake QPR stayed up, apart from working about 2 miles from the stadium, it's a ****hole and there supporters are tosspots (not all of them), they would be very strong in the Championship. Bolton, if the rumours are true have around 100M in debts!!!, I'm not too sure if their owners can subsidise this? if Not they will try a West Ham/Leicester and try and buy there way out or if it's too late a fire sale is on the cards, they may drop another league, take Davies out of their team and they are as they stand no better than us. Blackburn with their fulsome Chicken farming owners will be very unpredictable, I'm guessing (BIG GUESS) just in or around the playoffs Wolves, I believe will keep most of their team, they have and always will be a yo-yo team, they always seem to be prepared for the drop. Top Two. Charlton will be in or around the playoffs. Shef Wed will do ok too. If Huddersfield don't go up Rhodes will walk. Watch out for MK Dons next year in Div 1 IF they keep Karl Robinson, I'm starting to feel he is the right man for us.
With no manager as yet,and no keeper on the books ? Impossible to say mate. Good luck in the Prem though
wolves will be strong, there wage bill isnt silly and they aint millions in debt as far as we know. bolton and blackburn on the other hand how can people say they'l be top end challengeing with the debt and uncertainty surrounding them. its just come out bolton need to half their wage bill
IMO, Bolton and Blackburn have bigger issues off the pitch due to the amount of debts they both have. That will impact on the type of squads they have. Wolves(who actually have money in the bank) look best placed to go straight back subject to who they sign up as the best players will leave this summer for sure. The championship is going to be as open as this year and maybe more so. Barnsley and Peterborough are 2 who i expect to get relegated. So who joins them..............
i expect bolton to have a similar season to us when we first came down and had to massively reduce our wage bill. for a squad drastically lacking in talent as it is, i think there going to be reduced to the bare bones and really struggle. wonder what attendances/season pass sales the likes of bolton and blackburn will get too
See this lack of a manager means that transfer targets for us will have to be re-drawn up. NB said he had a list before the season was even over, but a new manager is going to have to look at what we have before deciding where to strengthen. Seeing the teams entering the league this season, I reckon the 3 relegated teams will do ok, midtable to playoffs. Can't say who will go down, nobody has really started strengthening or losing players yet.
To early to say really, still dont know the full composition of the league for next season, dont know who will leave their clubs or who teams will buy. One thing i do forecast is that we will finish ahead of The white ****e again, Nigel Pearson will be gone by October, Woy Hodgson will be a bigger Turnip than Graham Taylor and the X Factor winner will have the xmas number 1 slot.
Gartside announced yesterday that they were going to have a clear out and reduce their wage bill be at least 50%, I can't see them going straight back up. Blackburn need to sack Kean, he's a complete liability, the bloke's thick as pigshit. Wolves will be the interesting one, their new manager was fantastic at Copenhagen, but a complete disaster at Cologne, it will be interesting to see how he gets on here.
Think Wolves will finish the highest out of the 3 with maybe only a couple of key players leaving. Can see a prem club coming in for Steven Fletcher and maybe Jarvis & Johnson but apart from that they should be able to keep a fairly strong squad and there will be no doubt a couple of decent scandinavian larkers brought in.
