They probably had Roman numerals on their shirt backs ! Can't get any closer than the actual year ................... probably still chiseling on stone boards. https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&...0qM2zf4jq14GdHg&bvm=bv.74649129,d.dGc&cad=rjt
STOOPID GAME It doesn't go back far enough for me Hate this STOOOPID game EDIT Is it because the Third division N and S happened about 1958...and they haven't got those records????
I was born in June xxxx. We had finished third in what is now the second division and had just missed out on promotion to the first div (Championship) by 2 points. (Remember it was 2 points for a win in those days.) Bury and Walsall were promoted. Watford were in 4th place, 6 point behind us. Our best result that season was a 9(nine)-2 home win against Tranmere!
Were you born before 1920 Beth? Use this page and just change the date at top right of the page. (This is page is for 1970/71). http://www.statto.com/football/teams/queens-park-rangers/1970-1971 Click on the club's name on the table and it will show you the individual match scores for the season (not the dates).
Eamon, looks like we were both born june 61 ole chap. I may be a tad older than you .................. consider me your older brother, ha! ( 2nd of June 1961 )
Second in the old third division after 14 games. 1 point only behind Bristol Rovers and 2 games in hand.
Know your place little brother, I was born on the 1st!! (A palindromic birthday 1-6-61 and no, it is NOT my Pin number!)
Although I was born on a Saturday (during the reading of the football results at 5 p.m.) QPR did not play that day. But we did two days later on Monday 23 January 1961, winning 3-1 away at Newport County, keeping us 2nd in the old Division 3. But we finished 3rd, Bury and Walsall promoted. By reading the other posts I realise I was born in the same year as Eamon and Aussie. Sorry for outing your age Eamon......but I am 6 months your senior.
Unbelievable, I couldn't win a chook raffle even if l bred it myself. Oh well, it's always good to have a big brother to look up to and to buy me beers when in need.
Old Div 3, Lost 5 zip to Swindon 12/1/63. One of the worst winters in history apparently and not many games got played in Jan that year.
http://www.statto.com/football/stats/results this one goes back to 1871 beth edit not that I mean you go back to 1871(stop digging)
Thank you all...I was being Stooopid I was born on a saturday, just after lunch.... We drew at home to Northampton 1-1 all on the day I was born.
I hadn't known that I was born on a Tuesday until I looked at these stats, so the previous Saturday we had won and we also won the next Saturday too, not bad considering we had ended an eight game losing spell a couple of weeks before that. We eventually finished 18th in the old Third Division (South) that season.
