Although there is a FAQ section with instructions on how to do things, it is more like a reference manual and may not be everyone's cup of tea. I was wondering therefore if it might be useful to have a thread on what can be done and how to do them, described in layman terms. We could add things that we know (even if most people know how to do something, there's bound to be some that don't, especially newbies), and people could ask "how do you?" and "is it possible to?" questions. Anything we don't know I can find out from other moderators (there's some cute techies out there).

What do you think?

I wondered where this had gone. Sorry Cyc, not much good asking questions if you don't get an answer.

if you want to insert an image from the internet:
locate the image
right click and then select "copy image URL"
in your post click on insert image
Ctrl + V will paste the link into the space where it asks for the URL Link
Click OK
You must log in or register to see images
 
Cyc - could be that you and me went to the same school for IT idiots, I got as far as 'locate the image'......
 
If you right click on an image a box will appear.
Click on "Properties" and another box appears
In the box it will say "Address (URL)" followed by a web address.
Copy the web address

When you write your post click on the little image of a tree just above the comment box (if you hover over it, it will say "insert image"
A box will appear, paste your link where it says "please enter your URL" and hey presto - a picture will appear when you post the comment.
 
For example. Google "Dancing Brave Photos". You will see the image/photo that I posted above. Right click your mouse and from the list left click on "copy image URL". This copies the URL Link onto your clipboard.

In your post click on "Insert Image" and right click. This pastes the URL Link from your clipboard into the box where it asks for the URL. Clck Ok and the picture will be added to your post. Give it a whirl.
