I think hes been effective when he came on. He is maturing well but is obviously hell bent on playing as striker though i feel he does love the club. Should we play him as striker in the cc, or persist playing him as a winger and let him run down his contract. I think we ought to grant him a crack of the whip. Should he fail he ought to realise his fallacy himself. Should he prove to be half as stubborn as me sell him in jan. However it might be an idea contemplating a change in formation to accomodate this particularly when we have injuries pairing him with giroud. Bit of a dilemma but i don't think freezing him out is the way to go as it won't aid anyone.

He did well when he came on tonight. Walcott always offers something dangerous.

The trouble with Theo is that there is no middle ground, he's either sublime or ridiculously bad.

Until he signs a new contract, the answer is to keep him on the bench. If he is not prepared to commit his future to us, then we need to plan for life without him. And that means, giving AOC more playing time and hopefully that will help him develop. Heck, we could even give Gnabry some playing time if Walcott refuses to sign the contract. Also, hopefully Rosicky gets fit again as that gives another option and means that we do not have to turn to Walcott.

I agree with that, don't know why he thinks he's a striker all of a sudden.

He didn't join us. I know he started as a striker but he has developed as a winger so what makes him think he will just click back into a role he left behind.

Was he? I've gone back and looked at the team sheets for those first few games he played for Southampton, and he only played striker when they played 4-4-2. When Damiano took over from Redknapp and went to a 4-3-3, he and Dyer played wing with Ormerod in the middle.

I doubt that Theo would have ever played as a the middle striker in a 4-3-3. Given how few teams are playing 4-4-2 these days, he probably has a future with Stoke, or he had better get used to playing on the wing.

Being either sublime or ridiculously bad with nothing in the middle is a true sign of a one trick pony.
