This is by far from a scientific study but a cretin in football forum terms I would define as a mentally unstable person, possibly with delusions of grandeur, for example, “I have a source” and someone who craves attention.

When a football forum is infected with a cretin it is very hard to remove it, the more you try the more they multiply. The normal course of action with the unwanted is to belittle, insult, abuse, mock or simply delete or ban.

In the case of the cretin all these actions simply satisfy his craving because he sees all these actions as attention, acts of love, longing and acceptance.

The only known form of destruction requires a joint effort and a strong need to lip bite and ignore. Remove the oxygen that attention gives and the cretin will become more and more agitated and obnoxious but eventually he will die and fade away.

Ignore all posts, threads and comments that a cretin gives and watch him die.

Nothing official, just a tip on a long cold day.

Good idea Syd and i'm all for it but it was said a few days ago on a different thread that the said Cretin has 5 alter ego's, we know the obvious one and i could hazard a guess at a few others but i could be ignoring a genuine poster. How are we to know the extent of his web?
