How to best remember Gary Speed

    Newcastle are set to talk about how best to remember Gary Speed at the Chelsea match and they are involving people who knew him.

    What do you think we should do in order to best pay our respects to the great man?

    Yeah, John Hall stand to be renamed after Sir Bob, East Stand to be the Gary Speed stand.

    That'd make up for the name change

    It is a pitty we do not have a screen or anything so that we could show a tribute video or something. I think a 1 min silence/applause is a given but can't really think what else we could do, maybe certain people who knew him could make a speech or something? I also think all our players should play with Speed 11 on their shirts.

    Can I just say that the swans and villa fans today held a minute silence for him, followed by a minute applause, it showed the respect that people had for him. Your former keeper Shay was absolutely in bits during the minute silence by the way, he deserved a lot of credit for keeping it together for the game.

    Think naming a stand after him would be a bit strong as we can't do it everytime someone dies, though they should do some tribute to him at the Chelsea game.

    I assume there'll be a minutes applause/silence and maybe something in/with the match programme. Not sure what else could be done really.

    There'll probably be some chants for him during the game as well.

    Maybe he'll get a bar/suite named after him. He was a true Newcastle legend but if any club are going to make a huge gesture it may be Leeds as they are the team with which he was most closely associated.

    Perhaps well do a DVD as well? Not sure, reckon that something may get named after Speed though.

    Think we should do similar to Leeds. For example, on the 11th Minute burst into spontaneous applause and chants of 'One Gary Speed'

    A minutes silence followed by a minutes applause was one of the things I was thinking of and I believe it's about the best we can do.

    Maybe we could get one of them giant shirts like with that "sign for the stripes" thing last season but instead we could have Speed 11 on.
