Just because I'm personally interested, but it also might be interesting to others, how positive are you about the immediate future of QPR? By this I mean how positive are you about pre-season, the coming NPC season and our chances in it and about the direction in which the club are headed regarding structure, youth system, playing and coaching staff, directors, etc?
I think its going to be a boom or bust season, either we will be right up there or implode. I dont think it will be a boring mid table position for us.
I really can't see us being any lower than mid table and I expect us to be at the top. I'm not fully expecting a cup at the end of the season but I wouldn't be too surprised if we get it. But I hope you're not right, about the possibility of imploding, flyer. I think the last option might have been more suitable for you, guv. But I'm quite positive. I picked choice two. I think things are looking good and people have learned from mistakes. The best thing is that Tony and co are not giving up. I think they'll get it right eventually, maybe even from now on.
I went for the things need to be sorted because we only have 2 CBs and not a single forward that can be counted on. I cant really come to a conclusion until the window closes.
I would have offered him a year which I think he would have accepted but Id have let him go if he wanted longer than that.
Sorry awjm, too many variables for me to decide.....I am very optimistic about the mid to long term - great owners, building off the pitch, youth, stadium etc - but I am deeply unsure about the short term i.e. next season - minimum expectation should be promotion given the cost of the squad and 'profile' of the management team, but I am not oozing with confidence, and even if we achieve it think another rebuild next year would be inevitable.
Still gutted about his dismissal. I simply can't understand it no matter which we I think about it. I'm sure he wasn't demanding huge wages and a 3 year deal. Well, I can't blame a QPR fan for not having confidence. I've been an active fan long enough to know that but I just have this feeling of a new slate and a new crack at the top two English leagues. We'll see, I guess.
I think he signed for 2 years elsewhere which leads me to think he may have accepted 1 year to stay. He ended up as another huge waste of money although for once, it wasnt the players fault.
I am confident for next season and the long term future. Next season we have (will have) the players and management to get promoted, and long term we have (will have) a new and bigger stadium and excellent training facilities. Onwards and upwards
I'm of the opinion that even our current set of players without any more sales and the management are not a guarantee of promotion because it won't be easy. But I still feel we'll do it, although I'm not 100% confident but close. I do not believe for a minute we'll be in a relegation scrap. And it's good to see that no one has chosen the downfall option in the poll.
You've got to be confident of going up with the players with have, with the pre-season the team should be well equiped to push on next season & shouldn't be out of top 6 all season i hope.
After 4 wins all last season, its vital that we get a good start to build confidence. And break our first match of the season at home sequence of 0-4, 0-5......
Well, I voted quite excited, although the truth is it's too early in the pre-season to be sure. But the owners appear to have some steel about them now and Harry seems to be making the managerial role his and hasn't done anything counter-intuitive yet so...onwards and upwards.
Whatever happens with the rest of the transfer window. The clubs position under the current ownership is a million miles better than at any point in my lifetime (Iâm 26). With training ground on the way (current hold up is guaranteed to be temporary), stadium plans are genuine and the owners learning from their mistakes with Bridge not signing being a recent example of that. The owners are loaded and willing to invest big. They will eventually get it right. I can see a strong spine for a championship team forming, Green, Onouha, Faurlin and/or Parker, Adel and possibly until January at least Remy. Other quality in the team and we will sign a few more and Redknapps record on that front have been successful. Shrewdest and most significant move so far for me is the Samba deal with a key point that has slipped under the radar. Pressure is massively alleviated from a financial fair play point of you by managing to get £12million of fees into the club. This will limit the damage of the drop off in tv money and allow us to buy time in clearing out and possibly having to keep hold of the expensive wasters like Bosingwa and Barton. Iâm not convinced that we will go up this year and can see a possibility of a Bolton, with a stumble at the start of the year as the club adjusts but then recovers before the end. Hopefully our stumble is shorter and the recovery more rapid and we do manage to sneak an automatic or at least a play-off spot. Beyond that though I am convinced the club will stabilise and push on
With the present owners and their plans for the academy, new training ground and possible new ground I am very confident for the medium term future. However, I think this poll should wait until we see exactly who stays and who goes before the first game in August.
I believe theres 25 % chance to get straight back. Even if few more so called star-players leave us we have strong enough side fight for promotion. The problem is, that theres maybe too much uncertainties to be sure of promotion or play offs.
