Are Hull second in the championship?

Just endured watching some of tonights game of them against brizzle.

Hull are a dreadful long ball team which will be cannon fodder in the premiership if they make it.

Ipswich must have a good transfer window this summer and get promoted next season if this is the standard.

For once I agree with you Treacle. This has been the worst standard of football in the Championship for many years hence the 'bonkers' situation where any team below 8th place stands a chance of being relegated! Cardiff and Hull will be relegation fodder next season along with whoever makes it in the play-offs. No sour grapes as I readily accept that we have been poor this season but at least we now have a great manager who has galvanised the poor squad of footballers that he inherited. It makes me laugh when I see the pictures of these fans celebrating when all they will see next season is their teams getting tonked every week. Who knows if your lot stay up even you might stand a chance of winning against them.

I think it's the poorest and dullest Premier League season there's ever been too. No teams and very few players have been inspiring.

I agree JWM, this has been a very poor league this year, there hasn't really been any outstanding team. It seems consistency will mean you get promoted out of this league but I think because those teams are going for that they will really struggle in the PL. There's certainly not the quality of Southampton, Swansea and dare I say Norwich going up this season!!

Hull were decent enough I though, solid could play a bit of football had the odd bit of quality in their side but if that's what it takes to get promoted this is a very poor league!!

But once they're dumped out of the prem they're 60 million quid better off . That's hard to compete with for the rest of us.

I agree Hog it's ****ing disgusting that a football team gets rewarded for failure by getting £60 Million! <steam> We got nowhere near that much when we got relegated and indeed we nearly went bust!

Finally somebody on the same wavelength.
Having said that though JWM, if those payments are going to continue to exist I would love us to have the advantage.

I agree it's ridiculous to have that amount of money, although I do think these parachute payments are needed to keep clubs on more of an even footing, however they need to sort the real problem out of making the PL a cash cow, then they wouldn't need these parachute payments.

Whilst it's not fair, I don't think it will overly effect us. Looking at most clubs who come down from the PL, they often struggle and take a few years to rebuild, most of them struggle particularly in the first season. Look now at Blackburn, Wolves and to a certain extent Bolton!!

Teams are struggling to get out because they keep chopping and changing managers. Having cash doesn't mean a jot if you've got no stability.

Like that useless prick Nick Miller on Twitter, you're basing your opinion on the last few games. All televised matches are always ****e when involving City.

To call us a "Hoof ball" side is completely ridiculous. We've been hit with many injuries and have basically had to grind out results lately. Things are hard when you have the World's most useless strikers. (Jay Simpson has scored 1 since November, Proschwitz last scored in the League against you lot back at the KC, McLean is on loan to you and still not scoring, Aluko is injured, Gedo is 50/50, Boyd has been stuck in midfield). Earlier on in the Season, October, November, December; we were playing some of the best football in the Championship.

Sone Aluko was our main man for tearing teams down, but our style is counter-attacking. We like teams to apply pressure and we then pass it around nicely and exploit the space. Managers don't refer to us as 'fluid' a 'passing side' and 'one of the best attacking sides in the League' because of hoofball.

Take not of the FULL SEASON before calling a team ****e based on tricky matches televised.

Burnley are our bogey team and that was on Sky, Huddersfield are a good side at home, that was on Sky and Brizzle are already relegated, planted two flanks of five behind the ball and just kept us out, which was also on Sky. By the looks of that, it doesn't look like they're going to be highly entertaining games.

I certainly didn't think you were a hoofball team. I just thought you looked fairly average compared with teams I've seen who have gone up in the past.

And no offence but if you are in the top 2, this division is very average, which i think it is!! It seems consistency is key when getting out of the division but being a success in the PL requires alot more. Which is why I think in general is seems those who are abit more expansive in their style often do better even if they usually struggle to get out of this league!!

Yeah definitely, we've managed to grind out some necessary results. Playing ugly at this end of the Season is needed in order to get us over the line.

I just can't stand people basing an opinion on a couple of games on Sky when we're notoriously bad when the Sky cameras turn up. We played the best football I've ever witnessed as a Hull City fan late November and throughout December and then our main man Sone Aluko got ruled out for the Season.

We are not over the line yet ...

Yes the payments for relegation from the Premiership are huge, So in answer to you guys at Ipswich or any other team in this POOR Championship moaning about it is get promoted from this poor championship and get relegated or even stay up for a year or two.

Or do you think the teams that get a piece of this should refuse it??

Ohhh no there is a problem with this you have performed poorer than most in a poor Championship, What does that say about Ipswich Town.FC at this moment.

In summary all promotions are deserved over the season they have been better than the teams bellow them and it doesn't matter what division you are in.... If the Tigers miss out this year and Watford manage to overhaul us then that to will be deserved.

Hope to god that doesn't happen.

    <cheers>

It would be an absolute travesty if Watford ended up in the Premiership, as we all know they have legally cheated this season <ok> As for Hull I have no axe to grind with them!

I don't give a **** about getting relegated from the PL next season I just hope we manage the accounts well next season and invest in the infrastructure of the club.

I would be happy to be a yo-yo side like West Brom for the next few seasons look at them now?

    That's the spirit.
Trouble is that there is so much pressure to stay in the prem when you get there that chairmen start sacking managers and the downward spiral begins whilst you look for a decent replacement. If Wolves had stuck with Mick I have no doubt that they would not be in the position they are in now.

I couldn't agree more and the only regret we have is that we didn't get Super Mick in at the beginning of the season. We would have comfortably been in the play-offs if he had been here from August.

The situation came about the way it did. We can't know he would've come to us any earlier so it is what it is.
