Makes me think even higher of Clyne...seen life from both ends. Good to be reminded that there are fantastic people out there working for the community.

It's a reminder to people who are relatively comfortably off [I could include myself here], who live without fear of violence, within a nice community etc.. that there are hugely under privileged people out there who have little hope and little resource. And crucially, their young minds have been programmed to survive without help or hope. And this is the UK of today for a whole swathe of kids, not the Middle East, India or Africa. Not everyone can have the spark of talent that Nat Clyne has, so that a place like the Afewee Academy can draw it out. Those other kids may become the forgotten ones. The ones who, later in life, we might see in a few lines of newspaper print, where they've beaten someone up, stolen something, or got caught in gang crossfire. More power to the Brixton Recreation Centre. Of course, there used to be many more of these types of clubs and charities, but we voted them as too expensive.

Quite scary that we as a nation are prepared to turn a blind eye to the fact that a huge swathe of youngsters are essentially written off. Reaffirms your faith to see that there are people prepared to do something about it though.

I'd like to know what the **** Boris is doing. He was quick enough to pick up a broom for the cameras after the riots three years ago, but what's he done since for the kids growing up in these estates all over the capital?

He's out of there in May, so probably not much (except fantasy airports).
