Would be nice if the club did cheaper coach travel to accommodate the high price... Nicer still if the Mancs didn't make it so damn expensive!
We got pilloried - by the fans, at least, for charging £30 for Spurs last year. After an online poll, involving many fans, it was dropped back to £15 (I think) for the Villa quarter final. Just think, when we get truly massive and global, McNally won't have to wrangle over trivia like that any more
They're worried we might beat them and are using inflated ticket prices as a way to stem the yellow army's dolcit vocal tones !
Bought my ticket for the Arsenal game at the weekend for the princely sum of £25.50. That's ridiculously cheap in today's market, I think I paid even less last year. Fair play to the Gooners for that, shame they don't get any credit for that rather than just the stick they did for charging Man city £62
Man U are a bunch of greedy buggers, there are still some sensible clubs out there, but my gut feeling is that in the next ten years or so Premier league matches are going to be out of reach for a lot of average working class folk.
What we want is the "Sky bubble" to burst and get us back to players being paid sensible not obscene wages as they are now. and ticket prices at reasonable prices. Of course it will never happen as players/agents are so removed from the man in the street and how he lives. Abramovich and his sort,along with Sky are the real problem,but I believe it's too late. And I still pay my SKY every month
Has anyone seen the 'Heroes' ticket prices? I work in the NHS which according to the prices means I can get a ticket to the Man Utd games for £15! I dont really understand why this is in place. In Lincolnshire where I live the NHS pays quite well in comparison to the average wage - dont hold me to that, its just my opinion and I dont have stats to back it up. Does anyone know if this is something new and/or if its just available on the Utd game?
One of the big problems with the "SKY bubble" is that due to their huge influx of money wages/ transfers have increased = higher ticket prices = less "real fans" able to afford tickets = the real fans buy SKY as it is the only way to watch their team. The cycle continues
The ridiculous logic of this equation (not that you're wrong, just that it is illogical) is that the ticket prices should go down as a result of clubs being able to more than make up the deficit using the Sky money. It's an odd situation of demand creating more demand.
I completely agree. However the clubs see it as more money to spend on players which seems to lead to an increase in wages. Then they panic and up go ticket prices. It is a massive shame because the SKY money as you say could/should lead to lower prices. That is unless you are a business which football clubs are (although mostly badly run). Out of interest is there any name for an organisation which is not a charity and not a business? Because football clubs seem to be neither. Rich peoples playground
This is a bit of a current issue in Spain at the moment regarding Real Madrid and Barca is it not? I think I read that they are under ongoing investigation due to their 'smoke and mirrors, not for profit' status. Something along those lines anyway.
Haven't seen it but sounds very probable. They do seem to blur the lines somewhat, guess it allows them to have the best of both worlds. You can have types of charities which are allowed to make some money, therefore not completely "not for profit". Although Im sure that is then meant to be reinvested rather than taken out for financial gain.
Plenty of tourists and nouveau fans willing to pay those prices, £46 wouldn't exactly worry me, but would I want to travel up to Manchester on a rainy Tuesday night in October for that privilege? **** no!
It would be nice if, similar to Germany, you could buy tickets which include the price of travel on public transport. £46 for a ticket plus a lot more to travel. £100+ for a league cup match is crazy
Ridiculous for us to see man united reserves and players coming back from injury with the added incentive of perhaps seeing an 18 year old prospect. Was quite looking forward to going and meeting a few friends from manchester and going to the game but no chance now.

I'm hearing the club are offering free coaches up to Manchester for this game, so hopefully the people who are going will now save a little bit more money. Great to see our club giving us supporters support too
