    if Blackpool get relegated?

I have a vague recollection that the Matty Phillips deal, included a bonus payment if Blackpool stay up but can't remember the details.

    It's not looking good.

When the deal was done I think it was said that if Blackpool stay up this season we will get a further £350k or if they went down and came back up within the next 4 years we will get that amount still.

However Hayes said last week that there is another clause in there where that payment would also depend on how many minutes Matty gets on the pitch this season. He cannot meet that target now and therefore we won't get that money this season whatever happens. We could still get it next year I believe and there is a big sell on clause.

I don't like these clauses about number of minutes played. They are open to abuse.

That reminds me, does the 'Let's give the goalie some abuse' song still ring out in the Valley End these days? Used to be great.

One person: 'Lets give the goalie some abuse'
    Whole crowd 'ABUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE'.

Takes me back to the Stanley Matthews days. These teams had famous match that resulted 4-3 but can't remember which way it went.

You must mean the Matthews cup final in 1953 that Blackpool won 4-3. Fitting that today's game is on cup final day if it finishes that way.
