  1. I don't want you to put the amount you expect us to get, but what is the least amount of money you'd be quite happy with going into the summer?

For me i'd accept 25 mil, any less would be stupid as we NEED more strikers and more additons to push up the table!

Whats the least you'd be happy with?

Not bothered about the amount so long as the players far exceed the work we'd have gotten from Carroll. Let's face it if we spent around 15m and got 3 Tiote-standard players I dont think many would complain.

I really don't think there is any excuse not to spend the full 35 mil, its not like Amy was playing for free and had no wages. If we are to beleive the stories, then they were willing to up his wages in the summer too.

Have you considered that if the AC transfer hadn't gone through, we would be spending nowt in the summer. We will use other money aswell you know.

would like 30 on players and 5 on wages. Don't know our wage budget though.

35mil + any money received for players sold + their wages we would save. All of that on transfers and their wages. No excuse not to spend it all.

I would want £50-60 million - am sure I read somewhere that Ashley had said he would never spend much in the first season back but if we stay in the Premiership there would be enough provided and on top of the £35M from Carroll am sure we could spend £50-60M (inc wages and fees)

What do I think we will get - £20 million

The amount of money spent on players doesn't directly matter, I can't say I want exactly this much and not a penny less spent. It's all down to how the money is actually spent, and that we still pay sensible amounts for good players, no Shepherd-esque extravagance.

    - 20mill of Carroll money
    - 5 mill made up of player sales and any pre-planned transfer budget directly from the club

Personally, I think Ashley will sanction, say, 20mill, and then keep an open mind about the rest. So Pards will expect to spend 20 mill, and then may get some additional funds if he brings another player to the table and convinces Ashley that it's worth getting him as well.

don't know about the amounts you've said but i'm sure if we kept carroll pardew would have had money to spend so i would be expecting the carroll fee and whatever the transfer funds would have been anyway but it's the fat man we're talking about so who knows the old adage wait and see applies as usual

Scientists have stopped trying to work out a way of extracting money from the wallet of Mike Ashley and have instread opted to focus on solving world poverty.

"At the end of the day", eminent scientist Mr Felcher declared "it's alot ****ing easier."
