I'm sorry to say i think it's time already to find someone with new ideas or we'll be in The Conference and 21 years of league football will be just a memory. I'd offer vAinsworth the assistant's job as he knows the players and if he refused it then bye bye. There's no doubt he tried hard and he loves the club but can he not see what 1 win in 15 games is doing to our league position?
what always has to be looked at in circumstances like this is whats the alternative? taking a gamble on a young unproven manager is as much of a gamble as sticking with ainsworth. if there is a proven manager willing to work alongside gaz for minimum then its an option. people need to try and get behind the team, not just booing. at Mansfield the booing was pointless and unfair
I imagine that if you put your heart and soul into doing the best you can, and get booed for it, you start to feel that it isn't worth it. Someone who continues to fight through this, and continue to give his all, has the strength to pull the whole team through; even if that means non league football for a period before re-emerging a stronger team. I have no time for a crowd that boos someone doing their best. Each one of them should try it and see how it feels. I think we seem to be forgetting what it was like under Hayes and that, at the time, we would have taken non league football in order to be rid of him. Then there was the threat of administration. Look at where we could have been under Hayes and look at where we are now. In a nutshell, where would we rather be? Not exactly a head scratcher for me.
you sure about that bit? I wasn't a fan of hayes but I would happily have stayed in league 2 with him as the boss, as oppose to the conference with the trust. its such a tough league to get out of however agree about the booing - if the players are giving 100% (and I know some people say that's not enough) then booing shouldn't be the case. ive booed before when the team has been lacklustre and not bothered, but the majority try to be optimistic I think!
IF we go down i can't see us getting back in The Football League again and we'll be like Wrexham and Cambridge you have been trying to leave The Confrence behind them for quite a long time and there are some good teams down there.
In a word, No. But having gone back to the old BBC threads there were some comments stating they would prefer to be in the conference than some of the other possible outcomes under Hayes. Nowhere near as strong as I implied though and it was really in the context of a "general" belief that Hayes was leading us into administration.
What we need is a change of luck its got to happen soon and we have now brought in a experienced goalkeeping coach hopefully he will bring in much needed experience and some new ideas
Why have we brought in a goalkeeping coach? We have a very good goalkeeper. We could do with a goal scoring coach though.
Thats easy Ron stick the round bouncy thing in-between the two white vertical and one horizontal thing bypassing the bloke wearing the big gloves shall I apply
I would like to add that there is a white line on the ground that goes from the foot of one of those verticals to the foot of the other one. It is essential that the round bouncy thing goes far enough over the line for both the referee and linesman to have no doubt that it has actually passed completely over the line. It is preferable if you can get the round bouncy thing to hit the back of the net (which is attached to the said vertical and horizontal things) and not come back out. This way the goaly has to enter into the area that is surrounded by the net to pick up the said round bouncy thing, thus leaving the referee and linesman with no option but to deem it a goal. However, care must be taken to not touch an opponent in the process as, in such instances, the goal is likely to be disallowed. There is another silly rule that could cause the goal to be disallowed but this will be covered in lesson 9 once the art of getting the ball into the area surrounded by the net has been grasped.
Is it worth sacking him now Pompey bought in new manager the only team they have beaten is us apart from Northampton we can not beat teams below us
Just had a look at the Bristol Rovers & Pompey message boards & I don't think you could make a team to challenge Chesterfield out of any of us & we are all saying the same thing
