He's one of the most talked about transfer targets this summer, with Man Utd reportedly looking at tabling a bid around the £40m mark. He had a great campaign last season and on that form looks every bit like he could make the step up to a big club. The lure of Champions League football and challenging for trophies would be a tempting prospect for a young player of his talent. But, he's only had 3/4 of one season where he looked top quality. He faded somewhat towards the end of last season and looked distinctly average in the U21 comp earlier in the summer. Personally I think Kane will stay with Spurs this summer, whilst the big clubs watch from the sidelines to see if he can repeat his form from last season. If he does, then expect big money bids to come in next summer. At the moment, I would say an exciting but unproven (at the top level) Kane is worth around £25m . But if he has another good season, then he could well be worth the £40m that's being touted. Is he worth more than Raheem Sterling ? Man City are reported to be preparing a similar bid. Again, I think both players need to prove themselves over more than one season, although Sterling has shown a bit more consistency (up until he's fallen out with Liverpool that is)
I honestly don't see anyone signing Kane this Summer, Levy would want stupid money n I'm not sure anyone will pay it based on one season. If he repeats it again this season however...
Exactly that. Only club he'll realistically go to is United as well. Another season like the last one and he'll be in the 40-50m bracket
This is the trouble with English players, they attract a huge premium being sold between English clubs as the hype around them is so big. Is Harry Kane a good player ? Undoubtedly yes, but is he a big fish in a small pond at Spurs and could he make the step up to a big club and make an impact at the top level ? Not convinced at the moment. Currently I agree he's worth around £20m-£25m and will need to prove himself again next season to attract big bids from the top teams. But if Utd were to offer anything over £30m this summer, Spurs would be mad not to accept.

Good wumming (Hiag baiting?) but clearly Spurs would not sell him for 30 million. Spurs aren't likely to sell a youth product come good to a premiership rival for less money then they paid for Lamela! Strikers are a premium as well. Yes he's only had one season but I've seen nothing to suggest he is a one season wonder and has all the tools. He looks a far better all round player than say Lukaku did at West Brom and Everton and he went for 28 million.
Well £28m for Lukaku was plainly bonkers. Kane is a very good player, but he's only had 3/4 of one good season. This season coming he will be a marked man and reproducing what he did last year could prove more difficult. If he does then man Utd would be justified in spending big money on buying him from Spurs. If he has an average season though, Spurs might wish they'd cashed in this summer. Ultimately though, Levy is a selling chairman and if the big clubs come sniffing, he'll be tempted to sell.
He will but to be fair to Levy, he got a world record for Bale and good money for Modric and Berbatov. It's not likely Kane will go cheap.
I agree, when he goes Levy will get decent money for him. The problem with Spurs though is that they have reinvested the money in dross. Without champions league football they are never going to attract top quality players and the problem is that they sell any champions league standard players to, well, Champions league clubs as they can't offer it at Spurs
To be clear, Levy has only ever sold top players who demanded a transfer. To suggest otherwise is just Piskie having another of his obsessional anti-Spurs pops. Bale, Modric, and Berbatov all put in written transfer requests, and in the cases of Modric & Berbatov basically went on strike. Levy was left with no option but to extract the most money he could for the club. As The Gooners are only too aware, it's pointless trying to cling on to a player who's mind is elsewhere.
That may well be the case but there is very little loyalty in football nowadays. If Kane carries on as he is and Spurs don't offer him the chance to compete for titles and in the C.L, chances are that sooner rather than later he'll want to move up. Any club has to match the ambitions of their players to keep them. Arsenal lost RVP and Nasri for not doing that.
If Kane has another good season and proves himself to be the genuine article, then I've no doubt some of the big fish will come sniffing around. For the foreseeable future, Kane has pledged his loyalty to Spurs, if that changes, I'm sure Levy will deal with it at that time. I should add that I don't know why I'm bothering to respond to this thread as its just another pop at Spurs, with no real evidence or justification behind it. For me, Kane still has to prove that he's the real article. That, we should find out this coming season.
I think he looks a hell of a player but this season will be key now he isn't an unknown anymore. Strikers lose confidence as well and a few games without a goal, who knows. Be interesting...
What will be harder for Kane this season is that players now know what he is all about so he will be man marked and kicked around a bit. Last season he was an unknown and flew under the radar a bit, which gave him a lot of freedom. This season he won't have have that benefit as defenders will be onto him.
I didn't realise that it was one of your defenders who did that stupid, "Who is Harry Kane?", video! Why were they dressed like a homeless pirate?
Man City would be ****ing bonkers to pay £50m for Sterling, but you know they will just go ahead and do it as money is no object at City. As for Kane, as myself and others have said, the big clubs will wait and see if he has another good season before prizing him away from White Hart Lane. If he's a one season wonder then Spurs might wish that they''d cashed in this summer. Kane will be a marked man next season and might not find the same room and space that he did last season. We'll see, personally I think he'll do okay and will be off to Utd next summer.
Are you just going to keep posting exactly the same thing until someone calls you on it, Piskie? Seems a little pointless...
