Seeing we probably haven't spent a penny yet with the Davies/Vorm profit counterbalancing Emnes' cost and the sign on fees for Fabianski and Gomis and the Pablo fee balancing the Montero fee we probably have at least £20m to play with. Seeing all we now need is a right-back and a DM things are looking good. Happy days.
On a negative, Besic looks like he's going to Everton. Quick Huw, trump Roberto's offer and sign him. He's exactly what we need
We are now desperate for a premier league quality left back, Right back (understudy / relief), two wide midfield / wingers, possibly another striker and a defensive central midfield player alongside Leon. In short, we have gone backwards. But have probably broken even on wages.
Stop panicking - there's a way to go yet. If we lose Bony and don't replace him then we've gone backwards.
Monk will probably have 40 million for transfers if Bony goes . Kind of a win win for us regardless of Bony's status come kick off . We would be alright with Gomis with Emnes at the ready so 40 million would surely fill any holes anyone can think off . If Bony stays , 20 million , which I also think is the transfer figure we are working with , will be lots . Monk will have lots to work with , just a matter if he can do the job with a basically rebuilt squad .
I didn't forget Gylfi but should have mentioned him in the Spuds deal. If we made a £5m profit from that it would balance the Emnes signing and a couple of million each for Fabianski and Gomis Although the signing on fees might be more. On the credit side we may have had a million or so for Michu's loan deal.
So what you guy's are saying is we haven't broke the bank so far this window... I doubt HJ would spend the kind of money needed to pull off the trio below but IMO... (RW) Loic Remy, (DM) Anel Hadzic, (RB) Sam Byram and most importantly don't sell Bony or Ki... ---------
I am quietly amused at those that think we still need a lot of signings. (1) In spite of being in the premiership we do not have a bottomless pit for transfers e.g. a 25 man coaching staff doesn't come cheap. (2) What is the point of our under 21 and under 18 squads if we do not give them a chance on the odd occasion if needed. For instance we have 3 wide players Dyer, Montero, and Routledge who can play on both flanks. If necessary we have Alex Bray who laid on the first goal for Gylfi against Plymouth and Kenji Gorre. Kingsley looks as if he can cover for Taylor and Fulton, when fit, looks as though he is worth a chance. If Bony stays I don't think we need to look at the striker situation untll January. I still think we need a decent RB and DM.
Have a look at this. Interesting. http://talksport.com/football/revea...-every-club-ranked-net-spend-140729104449?p=1
