OK, a bit pissed tonight but I've been wandering how much have we improved on last season in terms of player acquisition
Take the end of the season:

Between the sticks:
Weale -> Schmeical. I'd say KS is living a bit off his name. Weale had a poor season so just purely on the basis KS wants to prove a point to the Leeds fans I'd say it's +1 in the goalkeeping stakes

Defence:
Naughton -> Peltier - TBF I've not seen much of Huddersfields RB but LP has to be an exceptional signing to match KN so -3 in the RB position

Berner -> Masilela - Massy looks on You Tube to have the edge purely on the fact he has champions league experience so +1

Vitor -> St. Ledger. Not sure. Both young, both seem to prefer CB but can both cover RB so evens for me: +0

Bamba -> Bamba - no compromise so +0

Bruma -> Mills. Bruma was ****. Mills has experience at this level so this is where I feel Sven has improved massively +3

Mee -> Tunchev - To me, Tunchev (if fit) is like a new signing. If he can reproduce the form he produced a couple of seasons back (albeit in league 1) he could be first choice alongside mills so +2

Midfield
Not much of a difference as i type. Adding Danns can only be a good thing so +2 for me in the middle of the park

Width(if staying with 4-3-3)
No difference at the mo
Vassel and Gallagher so +0

Up front:
Yakubu -> Nugent. Yakubu, although lazy would have guaranteed us 20+ a season. Nugent I'm not so sure so -2 for the sharp end

So to conclude I say we have improved a fair amount in the defensive stakes and added to the depth in midfield but taken a backward step in the front line.

So are we ready for promotion? up to you to discuss and debate

Out of the players who have left from last season the only players we are going to miss are Kyle Naughton and Yakubu. Mills, Danns, Nugent and Schmeichel will all improve the team massively and St. Ledger and Peltier are more then good enough but not as good as Bamba or Naughton

If we had a game tommorow i think our team will be

Schmeichel

Peltier
Mills
Bamba
Konchesky

Danns
King
Wellens

Gallagher
Nugent
Waghorn

And the team that played against Ipswich last game of the season was

Weale

Naughton
Bruma
Vitor
Van Aanholt

King
Wellens
Abe

Gallagher
Vassell
Yakubu

I think this season team is all round alot stronger except Naughton and Yakubu
