whilst i would love qpr to spend loads of cash on transfers... how much has been spent by the likes of wigan foolham blackburn etc we will probably be in a dogfight with at least 6 other teams are they spending silly money on silly players
Spot on. We're a Championship side that's gonna really have to punch above our weight to even compete. Our lack of quality signings this summer is nothing short of a disgrace. A couple of freebies and geriatrics. Some people are easily pleased.
We are a team that came from the Championship which we won, closely followed by Norwich who came direct from League 1 ... both of us underdogs and that's history. end of. We are left with just opinions prior to the season kicking off. Our team because of affairs off the pitch have made fans of our great club very fickle. What do you want? Simply I disagree and support NW. I am of the view that because of the business aspect of the Premiership only money seems to talk ... if you think like a business then its easy to see why some money men look at things different to what we may all think... People who have read my posts know I am against business and football look at Chelsea! ... My optimistic views are born of soul and thank god QPR still have theirs We can all predict ( The Kaiser's Chiefs were right after all ) What we would be now having spent 40m i know not... but either doesn't anyone ... its hasn't happened so support what we have and what we are Premier League
Its the owners that are destroying our season before its even started, not Warnock. Just because the owners haven't spent any money, doesn't mean we don't support Nelly and the boys. As soon as the ball is kicked off, we'll all be totally behind the team.
I'm inclined to agree with TBGWTDT to an extent. While I wish we'd had a transfer kitty of 10m or so, I think a series of England internationals (breakthrough or ex) shows a fairly decent step up and a strategy (enforced on NW) similar to Allardyce's Bolton sides. While a huge investment and buying trophies would be great, it would leave a slightly hollow feeling compared to doing it the hard (QPR) way. Nobody supports the hoops for glory - if that was all I was after then I'd change my name to Pablo and start supporting Barca.
We are underdogs to stay up? No one gives us chance? No one's found the key to the transfer chest? Let's just rip it up and enjoy the ride. We have EARNT the right to be in the premier league whether it be for one season or longer. I for one am looking forward to re-visiting Old Trafford rather than visiting a cold wet Roots Hall on a Tuesday night (and seeing us lose). If everyone writes you off, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by proving the "so called experts" wrong
Our squad is better now. We've only lost 7 youth players, Chimbonda and Leigertwood (for 1mill). We've also lost Ehmer, Balanta and Ramage on loan. out of all those players, I can only see Ramage having a chance of getting in the first XI. We've brought in four players who will all probably feature in the Bolton match. PS: Where did the leigertwood money go?
