Rumours have been rife that the only reason Judas isn't getting a game at Villa is because if he plays one more game it triggers another payment in the deal. I poured some huge scorn on that idea recently but with news that he is apparently 'injured' again and not selected today for their crunch game with Southampton, after playing in the FA Cup game (which apparently doesn't count in the deal) on Saturday, makes me rethink my beliefs. I cant begin to describe the thinking behind this strategy from Villa, as they are a club in free fall at the moment and in danger of spunking £60m up the wall if they are relegated but it seems that he wont play again in the league for them again and their fall will continue. If its only £4m or £5m we are talking about, then its staggering to think Randy Lerner and Lambert are gambling with so little to lose so much. Judas isnt at his best these days but he would surely bang in 8 or 9 goals between now and May to keep them up. The money they pay us will be got back if they then sell him in the summer. I'm at a loss with this one because if it were happening here, the fans would be going ****ing tonto.
Yeah it's a strange one by Villa. I think they are overly reliant on young players and could be in real trouble this season
I have read its 3m & i have read its 6m we will never know. Either way if villa are not playing him because of 3-6m they have big problems. If relegated they could end up like Portsmouth.
I heard its 3-4m. I think they wana offload him this month, if they can't then he'll probs start playing again and we'll be a few mil better off!
I keep reading how bent is 'not at his best' hasn't he nearly 1in2 for them? with half his appearances from the bench? he's never lit the world with his build up play but to say he's not his best is unfounded and frankly uneducated.
I am not prepared to divulge how I know, but I can tell you the outstanding balance on the transfer is 6.5 million.
I think after Villas defeat today he might jump ship in may, play for us untill next January untill another 'big' premier team come in for him!. When he is fit he is class and i would like him back if he is dedicated to us for 3 years.
ha ha, na not at all mate. your not the only one thinking it. He'll always score goals imo. he's as good as ever for me but i don't like the way that whatever team he plays for, the overall team dynamics suffer.
