The annual BBC cost of football survey has been published and we don't compare too badly with other Championship clubs. And with the exception of Charlton a darn sight better than the other London lot. [If you are in the cheaper seats (with early bird discount) and don't buy a cup of tea and a pie or the occasional shirt that is. Stump up for a ticket on match day and you are likely to be at the other end of the scale.] Here's a link to the survey results: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/resources/idt-79ccb1e7-d390-44c1-8857-cfcb0ade2595 A small point but in this BBC survey we apparently paid £8.30 per home goal. However (I think) that's using average seat prices. If you were in the cheapest season ticket seats (£259) then it works at about £7 (we scored 36 at the Cottage). And using that as the basis for all Championship teams it would look like: Reading: £5; Fulham: £7 ; Charlton Athletic: £8; Huddersfield Town: £8; Birmingham City: £9; Blackburn Rovers: £9; Derby County: £9; Burnley: £9; Bristol City: £9; Sheffield Wednesday: £9; Cardiff City: £10; Queens Park Rangers: £11; Brentford: £11; Hull: £11; Rotherham United: £11; Wolves: £12; Brighton: £12; Middlesbrough: £12; Bolton Wanderers: £13; Preston: £14; Ipswich Town: £15; MK Dons: £15; Nottingham Forest: £16; Leeds United: £17
Yeah, but it was not the goals scored that counted as much as the woeful goals against us at The Cottage.
Same number (36) scored against as for at the Cottage, GS. So they work at £7 a through as well. If you were an optimist you could say we got 2 for the price of 1.
Even as a "glass half full" person (essential to be a season ticket holder), I'm baulking at that one!!
