With the added extension of the ST renewals along with the majority of players finishing holidays and international duty, it looks like this is the week were the traps will fly open and business will be done. Will we get in there quick and get some of the players having been linked with such as Dost, Austin. Berahino, Thauvin, Ince and Van Ginkel or will that magical white line move that touch too far away for us to get over?

1 ..a low level squad/ youth type player.

Just to show they are busy busy busy..But not actually addressing any problems ...or spending cash for that matter

I'll go optimistic with 1 first team signing. Dost looks relatively close. I think Austin is going to West Ham, we might take Carroll as a result but that won't be this week.

After reports this morning I think we will get Dost, i also think we will get Austin, cant see him fighting it out with 4/5 other strikers at liverpool and west ham have Sakho, valencia and Carroll, so if they did get austin, that may leave Carroll free to join us?

I think Van Ginkel will sign on loan this week and if McClaren really wants Ince then he would need to complete it this week, so possibley 2 or 3 and thats being optimistic!

I have to say I think Ince has become high risk. Fair enough McClaren is the one manager who has properly unlocked his potential but is he capable of the step up. Had a couple of go's now, and not convincing. In the same bracket as Zaha for me. I'd rather take a chance on Redmond.

I think we will see one signing early doors just to sweeten the pot and get the support thinking this is just the start of something good.
If ST renewals start to improve we may see another sooner rather than later, but l can't help feeling that if the ST take-up goes well and the board starts relaxing a bit, then so will everything else.
The message coming from SJP is positive enough and l don't want to knock it, however, we all know that it's going to take consistent effort and major changes of direction over a sustained period before any semblance of trust is restored.
PS l don't rate Ince much either.

I dont mind Ince, he obviously has potential and him on one side with rolando on the other would give teams problems because of their pace. However Redmond is a top shout, I wanted him before he went to Norwich and i really think this season could be the one where he steps up and teams start having a proper look at him. Maybe we should get in their first before his stock soares

I am quite happy with none for this week and McLaren taking a look at what he has got both in the first team squad, reserves and development squads before deciding what we need and who suits those roles best. So I voted 4+.

We need an established winger who can create chances. I hope were not entering next season with only aarons, gouffran and cabella....

Nothing will be done, multiple clubs looking at Austin, Juanmi is being looked at by Southampton, Carroll is a no go due to wage demands, even James Chester is being looked at by others. Dost is the only realistic one imo but I'm expecting the same old BS about some mythical line.

This is my major concern...After the debacle of the last couple of seasons and the..'sod it, we'll scrape by with 13 1st team players and carver/stone tactics and training etc'..The board have proven themselves ...borderline negligent as well as incompetent..and any let up on ST pressure/popular opinion etc..may well see the board drift back to their historically proven methods ..ie sod it, 6 left backs, no CBs, and one loan 17 yr old striker combined with medieval training staff and methods..will all but guarantee we can challenge for top 8, if not quite the champions league...type attitude.
