Here's a game for everyone.... We've got 15 games left for the rest of the season and we need 40 points to be mathematically safe. This means we need 17 points from the rest of our games. How many point will we pick up from now to end of the season. This is my prediction... Man Utd (H) Lose 0pt Liverpool (A) Lose 0pt Spurs (H) Lose 0pt Leicester (A) Draw 1pt Norwich (H) Win 3pt Wolves (A) Lose 0pt S'pton (H) Draw 1pt Watford (A) Win 3pt Chelsea (H) Lose 0pt Palace (A) Draw 1pt Man C (H) Lose 0pt Arsenal (A) Lose 0pt Brighton (H) Lose 0pt B'ford (A)Draw 1pt By my prediction we'll pick up 11 points the rest of the season and I'm probably being optimistic about the Leicester game. That leaves us with 34 points at the and of the season and a massive threat of relegation. What's your prediction
O ye of little faith We are not going down I have it on very good authority I have just consulted the bottle of cote du Rhône that Leeds have driven me to
Jeez I thought I was being slightly pessimistic but wow. I'm guessing you're down for 2 wins and a draw.
Really? I think you need to look at the run that other teams have around us. It's a lot easier run than ours
I've looked at what games the bottom 3 have remaining and I don't think they'll catch us with the points we have in hand but today is the first day that I've thought this season, we could go down , but since, looking at their games, I think the cushion we have, maybe enough but we can only wait and see.
How we do in the remaining matches depends on when we get back fully fit players. A functioning goal scorer, a defensive midfielder, club captain and a right back would help steady the ship. Perhaps not turn us into a winning team against some but may just swing draws into wins and a loss or two into draws. Has anybody any idea when these players will start earning a living again?
Last news on Phillips was he was back training with the lads and would be back early March without any setbacks. Cooper on a similar timescale. At the presser on Thursday, Bielsa said Bamford wasn't even jogging yet. He still had pain in his foot. They don't even know how to fix it. That sounds like a possible season ending niggle. Phillips will undoubtedly steady the ship in midfield but we still don't have any goalscorers. James, Roberts or Rodrigo up front is not the answer.
Wish we hadn't got the Liverpool game rearranged now! Wednesday night before an early Saturday ko is tough. Don't think Spurs are great either so could pull off something similar to last season.
