How many points will we need to be safe this year? Looking at the last few sessions 50 points normally sees you safe. However this year all of the teams at the bottom are mid table in the form table so I can see more points being needed this year. I think 55 will see us safe.

I don't think we will go down, there are teams around us now who are on a terrible run of form like Blackburn who I think will be sucked into it.

As i clicked on the thread, i was thinking about the 55 mark.

As i understand it we're averaging 1.5 points a game under MM 46 + ( 9 * 1.5) = 59.5

Should see us safe

Who cares! Let's enjoy watching the budgies capitulate at the Stadium of Light and worry about this later <laugh>

Any team who don't reach 54 points will be in danger.

Since season 2003-03 the highest points anyone’s been relegated with is Leicester in 2007-08 with 52 points. After 38 games the three soon-to-be relegated teams were on:

Leicester – 41 (then in 20th position)
Scunthorpe – 38 (then in 23rd)
Colchester – 33 (then in 24th)

Given how much better the struggling pack is than usual then the above predictions are probably right.

Nine (at least) points required from:

H – Leeds
A – Millwall
A – Derby
H – Hull
H – Palace
A – Sheff Wed
H – Birmingham
A – Burnley

You can probably tell I’m in a bit of a panic.

54 points is not a bad shout, about a month ago I thought it was gonna be 53 but I think with our G/D we will need an extra point.

Judging on the way we have played this season I think we will be ok. We seem to do better against the better teams. I can see at least two home wins and three draws in thise games.... well hopefully :)

Trust hampy to open his size 28 mouth without thinking once again.

BTW like the banner but it is a little retro don't you think?

Is there anyone from the last 10 years in it?
