last 5 seasons..... 2011/12 7th place was crewe who had 72 points. 2010/11 7th place was torquay who had 68 points. 2009/10 7th place was dag & red who had 72 points. 2008/09 7th place was shrewsbury who had 69 points. 2007/08 7th place was wycombe who had 78 points.
Top half would be one hell of an achievement. A conservative forecast for the final 11 games of 4 wins, 4 draws and 3 losses brings in another 16 points giving a final total of 58. This would be close to last year's final table leaving us in 12/13 place.
We'll get 23 points from that lots, leaving us on 65 points in 10th, a mere 6 points off the playoffs. Probably.
I hope we can hang onto our key players for next season. I think O'Toole may move on which would be a shame because he would be hard to replace. But I trust Ward to keep the right players and sign the right ones too. The guy hasn't put a foot wrong.
We will not find anyone anywhere near as good as O'Toole who will play at this level, which is why we must try and pursuade him that his future lays here with us! Spend 250k, and offer him 4k p/w... that might work
After Burton and Exeter, I reckon we'll get there. But it will probably go down to the wire and the last day of the season! Was Ward in charge the year we pipped Fulham?
