Unless there's some big rabbits pulled out of hats quickly I'm close to certain we will win something this season ... being the unwanted record of the lowest ever points in PL history. Unless something changes quickly, more players will leave. And of course we'll pick up more injuries & / or suspensions in coming weeks before our long termers return (wow, all 4 of them). Do people really not realise what dire straits we are currently in?!
I think all of us with a vested interest in the club and not personal satisfaction do Driff... there will be people who come away from games saying 'great to have Manchester United here' without realising that the malaise that we are suffering means the only chance they'll get to see a named club at the KC any time soon is in an FA Cup tie when it could have been so so different.
We should have a "points off" with Ferriby, see who gets the highest points total. Edit...they play more games than us.... I will go for 1 Point to Nil to them
37 and we are staying up The squad (when it's assembled) will be galvanised through this experience, those coming in will have a point to prove. New owners will bloster squad in january and we will push on. We will set up well and execute a game plan in most matches, yes we will lose a fair few and have a couple of spankings, but I think after the ordeal we have been through there will be a unity between squad and fans that could carry us through. Sick of negative thoughts, let's come out fighting and all laugh at the Allams when we stay up
Providing our nucleus remains fit (once fit) - we can put out a team that is certainly capable of winning matches. I think amongst all this ****wittery from our owners, this may well galvanise our squad. I think we could stay up - there's certainly teams that will be as **** or on a par with us - Burnley for one, Swansea are losing quite a few key players, Watford, Middlesbrough and possibly Southampton - Koeman gone and they have lost some key players.
Depending if there is a benevolent takeover in the next week or so, probably 35-45 points. If the Allam's intentions are to stay for the season to vindictively destroy this club, well all bets are off, anything from 9-22.
I hope all of the above happens GLP.... BUT and theres a big BUT... swimming against the tide from say 15 points behind just is not going to galvanise the team don't you think? Of all those promoted we have by far the hardest start, whereas Burnley and Smoggoville have relatively shall we say sympathetic starts. The upside of that is.. we might have expected to get very little out of the first 6 games and our season essentially started after then. We need those around us to get off to a crap start too so that we then can look upwards with new impetus.. IF IT EVER HAPPENS...
Everyone has to play everyone else twice, it doesn't matter when you play them. It could be argued it's a benefit playing them when our squad is at its weakest and expectations from those games are minimal. We need to take points of the **** teams that will be around us at the bottom. Sunderland, Watford, Swansea, Burnley, Middlesbrough, Bournemouth.
