I`m thinking it may be more than last year. There seems to be no really shyte teams this season, apart from Villa, so I think the point total to avoid relegation may be quite high. The madness of this season may mean that you have to get 42+ points to stay up. That means we have to achieve 28 points from now tilll the end to get there. That works out at just over 9 wins from 22 games..... WOW!!! Jesus.. I really hope we strengthen in January otherwise we may have a problem!

I think we will finish anywhere between 12-8th, I think we have turned a corner, or well I hope so.

After losing to leciester and palace i thought that was it for Scteve and I didnt really see a way out for him, I couldnt see what he could change or what he could implement to start getting it all together, but he has managed to ensure everyone works 110% for 95 minutes of the game, which seems to be a sure fire cure for lack of confidence.

As long as the players keep this level of commitment up and Scteve keeps coming up with plans on how to beat teams like Tottenham, we have little to worry about tbh

I suspect that our 'crisis' is over. The players seem to have come together and sorted out whatever it was that led to them playing like they couldn't be arsed. Improve the defence in January and we should be fine. We need to push on and beat Villa on Saturday. Anything less than 3 points is unacceptable.

If we put the same amount of effort in this Saturday against Villa that we put in against Spurs and lpool, then it could be an extremely entertaining game to be at for the Geordie Faithful.

I was going to put a bett on Newcastle to score 4 or more, but its only 9/1. Its stupid, a couple of good results and the bookies come slamming down!

How many points? More than we will be able to achieve. We'll be relegated and sell all of our best players.

I think the points tally will be around 36/37 for survival.

I think we can count ourselves out of the top 11.

I can only see us catching Palace above this line I believe Chelsea will get better later on and finish well in the top 10.

Leicester will have a blip, but will finish well in the top half due to their start. Watford the same. West Ham will calm down but finish strong. Everton the same. Palace might dip away so we could catch them.

Stoke will remain solid enough to finish around 10th.

The team below the line will be unpredictable, apart from West Brom who are bound to finish lower mid table.

I see us finishing between 12-15th

    1 Arsenal 16 16 33
    2 Man City 16 15 32
    3 Leicester 15 11 32
    4 Man Utd 16 9 29
    5 Tottenham 16 12 26
    6 Crystal Palace 16 6 26
    7 Watford 16 2 25
    8 West Ham 16 4 24
    9 Liverpool 16 1 24
    10 Everton 16 8 23
    11 Stoke 16 -1 23
    ---------------
    12 Southampton 16 2 21
    13 West Brom 16 -5 20
    14 Bournemouth 16 -11 16
    15 Newcastle 16 -13 16
    16 Chelsea 15 -7 15
    17 Swansea 16 -9 14
    18 Norwich 16 -10 14
    19 Sunderland 16 -13 12
    20 Aston Villa 16 -17 6

Mitrovic came close to a booking and maybe even a sending off against the spuds so you have to worry about that as he will lose it and get banned for some games as other teams will target him and any injuries to Perez, Gini and Sissoko along with threat of transfer activity is gonna effect the outcome, easy to get carried away but will wait to see where we are at in January.

    16 + 28 = 42 ??

We wont need over 40, probably not over 38. A point a game is fine, more is better if we actually have aspirations of finishing about 16th-ish.

The team is looking more settled, McLaren is finding his feet, the new signings look mostly like improvements (Mbemba, Wij, Mitro all look good to me) and hopefully we'll get one or two more in January. I think we'll finish 12th-15th with about 45 points.

This takes into account the 2 point deduction for not being a London based media loved team.

Think the highest points total required was 43 and lowest 34 so it will be somewhere between those! When a team runs away with league it tends to be higher but this season thats not going to happen so think it will be closer to 36 points.
More importantly how many do you think we will need to qualify for Europe?

If we beat Villa we'll go into christmas with 19 points, and we'll be about 15th.

I think we'll do better than 19 points from the 2nd half of the season. I see us getting around 42/43pts, which should seen us safe.

A real 6 pointer between those two this weekend, I'm actually not sure who I would rather win, a draw would be perfect, but being london based and surrounded by many plastic chelsea fans, it is quite nice watching their demise and hopefully the inevitable sacking of the special one!

    It is a tough one...

Actually it isn't. I hope Sunderland lose every game between now and the end of the season by large margins. Nothing better than watching them suffer.
