Having lost 3-1 and 3-2 to Chelsea and Leicester since the start of the month we still have 5 massive games coming up in the rest of the month but some tough games in there as well: 13/12 - Everton - 1 pt 16/12 - Arsenal - 0 pt 23/12 - West Ham - 1 pt 27/12 - Man City - 0 pt 30/12 - Brighton - 3 pt How many points do you think we will take from those games? I'd take 5 points from those 5 games (20 points after 21 games) however they come but a point vs Everton tonight would be a nice start if not the West Ham and Brighton games take on a huge significance otherwise we really could be in trouble come January and that'll hamper our efforts to buy/loan players. Biggest of all of them for me is the Brighton game as they could be in the muck with us as their fixtures aren't much easier (probably more difficult looking at the current table) - Spurs, Burnley, Watford, Chelsea and NUFC. So where are our points coming from before 2018?
About 4 if we continue form. Lascelles comes back and it does sort that defence out abit, I'd say 6/7
A win tonight could make a massive difference going into the Christmas period proper. A point at a minumum is a must really. 5 points from those is realistic and would probably do enough to keep us ticking over (just) and not completely in the clart.
None, zero, zilch. Just can’t see a win at all. Trying to be optimistic but even then, one point maybe is all that looks on at the moment. We are rudderless and confidence is completely shot.
When will people learn that trying to predict what Newcastle United will do is hopeless? You might as well toss a coin.
A serious question lads, do you think you will have more points than we had last season after 20 games?
Put it this way, it would be impossible for us to have any less. Unless we are deducted points between now and the twentieth game, that is.
For me 13/12 - Everton - 0pt 16/12 - Arsenal - 0 pt 23/12 - West Ham - 0 pt 27/12 - Man City - 0 pt 30/12 - Brighton - 3 pt And bottom of the league by Jan 1st.
I actually predicted no points at all from those five games and with Everton and Arsenal done l am still on track to be right. Maybe a chance of something at West Ham or Brighton, but both are doing better than us right now, so see no real cause for optimism. The one glimmer of hope is that we looked better against Arsenal and Merino looks to have shaken off the rust and is getting back to his old self.
With West Ham picking it up now, and Man City being Man City, I think anyone's mad to expect any points from those games. And if we can't be Brighton we deserve to go down....no, that doesn't mean I think we'll beat Brighton, I think we'll lose. The simple fact is we do deserve to go down right now, and there's nothing to suggest our form is suddenly gonna go through a radical transformation.
