In the last few days a few people have come out and said there club is up for sale: Vila Newcastle spurs And now City I'm sure someone can name more? I know clubs are always looking for new investers and owners but this season there seems to be more publicly doing this, why do you think this is happening now? How much are the clubs been up for sale for and what clubs do people think will be worth buying? I look forward to what other people think on this
I honestly think City will be snapped up first , more good prospects than any of the others and relatively cheap for what could be gained if who ever buys/invests leaves the football to the manager and his team, and doesn't gert involved just l;ike AA has done with SB Spurs and Newcastle to much baggage and Villa not as attractive as it was a few yrs back imo
Villa +100m (Cost Learner £63m in 2006) Newcastle +200m (Cost Ashley £134m in 2007) Spurs +Stupid Money City +60m to 100m Granted we're not as big as the other 3 but some might say we're less of a gamble.
How does Allam stand in this if it was sold? Would the club be bought with the debt to Allam and we would continue to pay him in instalments (with interest) so any money the club is sold for is money in the pocket of Allam and he still receives the money he put in through a loan as a creditor, would the money used to buy the club be offset against what we owe Allam ie if we owed him £100m and a new owner bought for £100m we wouldn't owe Allam anything or if it was bought for £80m would we still owe him £20m. Does he hold the cards in which option to take if they are both viable?

If anyone was to buy City I think they would talk to the council first about the stadium and land around it. IMO it does not make sense to own city and not the stadium and land

If anybody wanted to buy the club they would only proceed if the debts were no longer attached to the club - ie Allam would write off any debts that he couldn't get repaid as part of the sale price.
Yes Everton have been up for sale for ages i always thought that once a premier league club came up for sale they were usually snapped up pretty quickly mainly by foreign investors but that does not seem to be the case any more. I suppose there are always buyers but getting a good one is not that easy
People might want to sell but only at a very high price which potential buyers are not willing to pay.
The problem with that is that it isn't a certainty of getting up. Looking at price per squad we do look very good. An expert on these matters last night on Humberside said that the issue of stadium ownership isn't a concern either. He also said the fact we have no local competition for fans is another selling point.
Judging by his response to Peter Levy's question he's looking for over £120 million for City. I suspect he knows he's not going to get an offer anywhere near that. In that case, yesterday was all about bullying the FA to agree the name change. If you don't change your mind I'll give the club away, honest.
I don't think the sale and the stadium setback are part of the same issue. The 12 month delay will allow them to play at Wembley (I presume). Joe Lewis is 77, let's be honest time is not on his side. Reading he wants £1b. Reckon he should stick the club on EBay for a quid and let market forces dictate the price personally ��
