Evening everyone, It seems to have gone a bit quiet on the transfer front, although I suspect that's because the team has been in sunny spain . I was just wondering how many more signings do you think we need to make before the start of the season? I'd like to think there will be a few more coming in to give the squad some much needed depth and hopefully some more quality upfront and outwide. For me it's a bit of a dilemma, I want to see some young talent be given the chance in the first team, even if it's 15 minutes or so when a game is already won. So by making more signings this is surely only going to limit the younger players first team oppourtunities, which I don't want. I hope Malky can find the right balance between using our younger players and using the transfer/ loan market. I love seeing our younger players being given a shot in the first team, but could it backfire if there not good enough? I know there's always the loan market if we have a few first teamers out of action, but we all know what happened last year with loaned players . . . . For me I'd like to see 4 more players in: An out and out winger. A ball winning centre mid. A 'target man' sort of striker (sorry I just don't think Parkin's good enough) Another forward who will score plenty of goals, maybe Goodwillie but it's gone a bit quiet on that front, I hope were just waiting until he's (hopefully) cleared of any wrong doing as I've heard a fees already been agreed . thoughts?
Even more important - - - get rid of Naylor before MM starts thinking he's any good after the Charlton game. He can flatter to deceive - - until it's too late!
With some free transfers already done , I'd be expecting a couple of big money outright buys & a few expensive loans. I expect MacKay to have Cardiff firing on most cylinders by the Christmas holidays . With a little luck , May might be a big month for the Bluebirds .
Eh, what's that Breezey? Have you left something off the end of that comment? Shouldn't you have added - "if you haven't organised any marches, the Malaysians have pulled out, the club gone into administration, or been taken to court by Sam for his £24M by then?"
Truth is we are relying on Malky a lot to get us a team on the pitch that will give it a good bash. I have to be honest, I'm not sure we have the quality of players, and untill we have played a few games that will remain to be so. Of course the big factor, or the "X" factor as Malky calls it, is Bellamy and I am hearing good things on this front. Everything is being brought in to place bit by bit and if he(Malky) walks the walk, then I expect a major effort this season.
Agree with most posts, we need a few "X factor" signings, paid for or on loan. I don't think we are far off a good championship side, just hope that Malky can help them on.
I never start anything , it's always a Bluebird like you with your " We do things the right way finanacially & the Swans don't " . Like I say , most know your just so jealous because we got to the Premier with peanuts & you get anywhere selling the farm , live with it Prophet !!
Meant " & you didn't get anywhere selling the farm " P.S. I'd love to turn you into a farmer Prophet . A good kick in the balls & you'd have a couple of acres Lol !
I do think some of our younger players will be used this season, and not because we don't have enough players (like in previous seasons). Ibby Farah, Jonny Meades, Wilding, Evans and Mason have all been doing extremly well. Mason is definatly one for the future.
Sorry to the others of the non arguing type , I do wish Cardiff the best this season as you rebuild .... Lucky enough , the right man was brought in for that rebuild ..
Cracker, what have I to be jealous of, you are a plastic fan stuck in the middle of Alberta, and I know what it's like I've been there, beautiful scenery, in some parts, but the majority of it is like your posts, flat and boring, you can point at Banff, but how many times can you look at a mountain or a tree or a glacier and go WOW, pales after about the second or third time, your life appears to be so sad that you vicariously support a team you have never seen live; over the internet Whereas I can get to see MY team on a regular basis, I live in a vibrant capital city, with lots and lots of wonderful facilities, I am within fairly easy travelling distance of the many wonderful historic and cultural sites in the UK and Europe, whereas for a couple of weeks of the year, you have a cowboy festival in Calgary . I can travel five minutes from my home and take in the wonders of the National Museum of Wales, or within two hours be in London and have access to the National Gallery, and all the world class museums and theatres available, a short flight and I can be eating in a five star restaurant on the banks of the Seine after visiting the Louvre, the Prado and the Alhambra Palace are within easy flying distance, for my more basic needs, I can get over to Amsterdam or Hamburg easily (not that I'd do anything like that ). Whereas you have to drive three or four hours to watch a man fall off a horse Jealous, I don't think so.
What good is premier league football when you're too busy squeezing moose ejaculate from your rectum to enjoy it?
" Cracker , what have I got to be Jealous of " . A well run football club of course with proper ambition , I know it's hard for you to understand , but this is a football forum Lol !!. As for where I live , it would be impossible to be jealous of my surroundings , absolutely impossible .
You got to the premiership well done..........it's obvious that you are there, because your chairman is running around like a chicken with his head cut off, obviously out of his depth. I wonder how long it will be before he jumps ship leaving a string of unpaid debts behind him, well run, don't make me laugh........we had about 5 years of mismanagement, which we are now putting right.........you have had about five years of reasonable management, but they still haven't made amends for all the years of mismanagement. You really are clueless, if the swans being in the premiership is SO wonderful, why are you on our board?
I came here trying to be optimistic on Optimistic's thread about your coming season , that was it , MacKay will lead the way . I have no problems with the Cardiff team & manager , just with there backroom style of finance & the big minority of fools for fans .
Cracker, were you born in Canada or did you move there? If you were born there how the hell did you ever become a Swansea fan?
