This is getting silly now with all these big clubs wanting our Brendan, Lazio are the latest side who want him as their manager and Liverpool are still hopeful of landing brendan before next season. How many more will try their luck in getting him. He has become the new special one but he is our special one.....what and who will eventually offer brendan a deal that he cant turn down....hurry up and start the season so we can stop all this speculation and we start the season with Brendan at the helm......or will we...<ok>

Even if any stories were true about other clubs wanting Brendan i,m not bothered about them as he's turned Liverpool down i,m 100% certain that he'll be our manager for atleast another season.

This comes with territory im afraid to say, luckily for us Brendan had his fingers burnt at reading and learnt from it it shows that we are doing things correct and we need to get used to the attention as hopefully utter won't be going away for quite a while <fingers crossed>

I'll be happier when the season starts with Brendan at the helm. Skybet still have Brendan as 2nd favorite for the Liverpool job at odds just outside even money!
Then again, what do bookies know? Where's my Elvis suit :)

thats exactly what im saying jackattack...lets start the season. no swans fan can say he wont go the same as nobody can say he will stay. anything can happen as there is plenty of time for anything to happen. the liverpool approach is not dead in the water as what fans think it is and lazio are going to make an approach this week, It will all depend on brendan's advisors and of course brendan himself.....you have to laugh at the ones that say its all paper talk but then quote papers who say he is staying and turned these jobs down.<laugh> i think its called selective reading..<ok> believe the rags that say brendan is staying but the minute they say another club want brendan then they become rubbish and worthless..<doh> As a realist i will listen to all the newspaper reports and whatever happens ..And anything can happen...<ok>

Superswan, can I just say that it makes no difference if the season starts or not, managers can be poached at any time through the season. You seem to be relishing in clubs that are coming in for Brendan, first it was the gunners, then liverpool, then roma and now lazio. You dismiss the fact that none of these clubs with the exception of Liverpool have made any contact with the club, and are saying that people who dismiss these rumours are using the press to do so. Can I just ask where did you hear this latest rumour then, the press, twitter, facebook or have you bugged the boardrooms of all these clubs ?

The latest rumour all over twitter is that Rodgers has been flown to the US by Henry to be offered a contract, although this has been denied by Leigh Dineen who says Rodgers had booked to go to New York this weekend in february!

He said months ago that he was going out to watch Wales play, think it was even on the official website.

this is not the time to do business valley, like jinks have said before most are away on holiday. give it two or three weeks when most will be back off holiday and then you will see the activity taking place. there are 5 clubs bigger than we will ever be interested in brendan, so be prepared for offers to flow into the liberty once the holidays are over..nothing will be decided apart from clubs announcing their interest in brendan....i have been in this game to long not to know how these things work....

What a strange thing to say as Martinez is about to be appointed as manger of Liverpool at this time , well I can't see him turning the job down.

As for Brendan's trip it was reported on the bbc website before daglish was sacked that he was going to watch Wales play, so kinda blows that speculation out of the water

like i said its much to early yet....if you think this is speculation then you have seen nothing yet..<laugh> you watch when everyones back off holiday and back in training then you will see some magor decisions being made....all we will hear now is that clubs who are interested in makng an approach....im not saying brendan will be tempted or not but we wont know anything while the clubs holiday time are going on.....that the way it works with us....jinks has made that point plain enough.....I will wait to see what happens when we report back for pre-season training....

It's speculation only, there is not one direct quote from these so called rumours, it's mostly a bunch of busy body reporters who have nothing better to do. Or people on twitter or Facebook spreading rumours. Like the one above with the Liverpool owner flying Brendan to New York, despite the fact that the BBC reported he was going 2 weeks ago before we even played Liverpool <doh> and I remember him now saying in march or so that he was going out there.

The rumour mongers rely on people to spread these virally across the net, it looks as if you have really caught the bug and can't distinguish crap from the chaff . I just rely on my own common sense and don't believe it all blindly, then post it up as facts, like the one above by you that says lazio will bid for him next week, what happened with Roma by the way ?

dont be silly have you not read the sunday papers. there are teams after brendan and any amount of burying your head in the sand wont stop that happening. we have to expect it with the season we have had....liverpool & lazio are the latest who are after him. brendan did not turn liverpool down as liverpool have not made an approach yet, nobody has made an approach yet as like i keep on saying its too early....why is every story you read about any club showing an interest in brendan Bu££sh!t and the ones that said brendan turned liverpoold down true..<laugh> it cant be true if they have not made any kind of approach yet and have only said he is a target for them....wait and see and have an open mind that he might get an offer to good to turn down and these offers may not come again if he cant better himself than he has done so far. Brendan has an open contract of 4 years with an option if a big club comes in for him then he can leave...why would brendan make sure that stipulation was put in place before he would sign...None of us know for certain what brendan will do and we wont know for a few more weeks yet....

Umm because the one where he turned down liverpool are on the official website

    http://www.swanseacity.net/page/Latest/0,,10354~2776443,00.html

You are posting rumours as if they are facts, you said above that lazio will make an approach for him this week, so how do you exactly know that ? The report I saw seems to have drawn his name out of a hat , very random

remember martinez....fans were adamant he would not go and the same debate with you i was having with them. I said we cant dismiss the paper talk and we wont find out until the holiday time is over, i was called names and said martinez would never leave and im talking ****e..<laugh> i said there is no smoke without fire and we cant dismiss the fact that he may go to wigan, but it was to early to know if he would go or he would stay.....SADDLY i was right the papers were right and martinez left to a higher club........So the moral of this is never say never as we dont know what brendan will be tempted with and what he will do, as its far to early for him to make any decisions on his future as all the clubs home and abroad are huge clubs and he may not get another chance if everything goes pear shape with us.....

The difference is that I don't believe Brendan thinks he is ready for a move, the Liverpool job is martinez's I should imagine, there is no chance he will go to villa and the Italian jobs I can't see those really interesting him as he would have to relocate his family there. I would put money on it that he will be with us for next season.

but thats my point valley we dont know what brendan thinks except he wants to manage a big club because that is a clause in his 4 year contract....and we wont know until they are all back from their break and official approaches if any are made...its all speculation until then....lets hope there are no firm offers thats all i say as he is bound to seriously think about it as they may not be offered again....

I don't think any club out of the UK will interest him, well except barca or real , but those are out of the question. As for premier league teams there are two without managers, villa he would never go to, Liverpool will have Martinez . The Wigan job I don't think will interest him in the slightest.
