Imo we are still very light in both full back positions and its weakened our team selections to drag midfielders in to fill in. However, we may only get one in this window.

Depending on the long term injuries to Brown and Cuellar, we might still strengthen there yet too.

Midfield is an area we have a lot of similar players and a pacy goal scoring midfielder is still a priority imo, As sessegnon showed how deadly he is from the wing, that's where I'd play him from now on, so a winger is not top of the list.

Up front is hard to call. Getting value in the January window for strikers is difficult and we've already seen a perfect example of that with this Remy. Whilst we all enjoyed the way it all unfolded, be under no illusions. No way would we pay stupid wages for a player like him either and its pointless putting ourselves in that position to start with.

I think we will just stick with Fletcher, Wickham and Campbell as the main striking trio until the summer with maybe McFadden as support and pursue a main target then, unless like N'Diaye Mon has been tracking someone since August. Also, our system currently means the need for another striker is less demanding just now.

So, full back, central defender and a pacy goal scoring playmaker are our priorities.

    Any thoughts?

Pacy playmaker is probably more of a luxury at this stage - but I'll take one! Definitely agree on a rb and cb being needed ASAP.

I just think we still lack a real pacy central player who can get forward aka Agbonlahor did against us earlier this season and a few others and also Anelka did for Chelsea in the last couple of seasons.

We are very one paced imo.

I would class them as both out and out strikers mate, and we are well covered there. If it is an attacking centre midfielder you are talking about, like Cabaye for example then yeah we need that but we could easily wait until the summer to sign that player.

For me, we need another CB and a RB, we also need to go all out for Danny Rose and if we cant sign him then we need to be looking out for a replacement. We cant keep playing midfielders in defence.

And if Fletcher is injured? No, don't think we can rely on Wickham, Cambell and others to get us the c24-ish goals we'll need to the end of the season. Another striker is essential.

I would be very comfortable with Wickham upfront and have every faith in him.

I think we still need a lb, centre half and striker and they we will be there or there abouts. But we need to be realistic.. what about malouda on a free!!

    I disagree totally.

I think Connor is ready personally if given the chance, to show us why he was coveted by many and cost us £8m two summers ago. I have huge expectation and belief in the lad personally and if he doesn’t get a chance here he will be off this summer imo.

Can't agree Cest. He's not close enough yet to have what it takes in the premier to take over if Fletcher is out for several games. And even if he doesn't get the games in, he wont be going anywhere. He hasn't proved himself yet, and no one's going to offer what we paid for him, so why wouyld we sell and lose money? He was alsways a long-term investment.

Colback, imo, is better at LB than CM... Gardner is also a very good FB. We can't rely on them playing there all the time, but I dont think they are our weakest positions.

CB is very weak imo. Wes Brown's career is over imo, O'Shea cant be relied upon to stay fit. Do we want to keep Bramble? Is Killgallon good enough (i think so, when he gets a run in the team)? Will Magnane do a good job? How about Cellular?

I'd rather throw Connor in the deep end than buy a stop gap like graham. I don't think Campbell is chopped liver either. We should wait until summer if we can't buy a bigger name striker right now.

Cest - agreed we need extra pace in the middle, but I reckon we're only good for another two more this window and a cb and rb would be my priorities.

think there'll only be loan moves now. tv money in the summer will allow us address the problem areas and buy long term replacments.
