with a lot of the top eight or nine teams still to play each other and they obviously cant all get three points how many points do you think we need for auto promotion
A few games back i thought 8 wins would be enough to guarantee automatic since then we've got 3 of them so 5 needed by that reckoning. However i think as you say rocky with so many teams in and around us still to play one another i think maybe 4 wins should do it.
The league is too tight to tell at the moment, most teams have a potential of 24 points that they could gain. All it takes is a winning/losing streak and the table looks a lot different.
Id say we need over 13 points to secure automatic.? I havnt looked at the league fixtures but with stevenage chasing and other teams in the mix up it could lead to a tense finale. However we need to perform and take every game as it comes and I believe around 14 points would see us through.
Its such an inconsistent league i think 10 will see us through. I don't think two teams would get the 5 wins required to beat us in that position.
i think the same ,the way this division has gone this season i cant see many teams getting 5 wins and considering a lot have to play each other that cuts down the chances to only one or two teams being able to do that
I was the first to post on here Rocky but it seems to have got lost. Maybe my dongle again. ..............I'll need to go onto the BBC site to complete the score predictor for the rest of the season, then I will be able to give you the definitive answer.
I would say 15 points to be on the safe side. You can't rule out at least one of Stevenage, Torquay and Gillingham going on an incredible end of sesason run with the form they are currently in.
Well done Rocky. Without looking at your predictions, have another go and see what happens. I just went to have a go but guess what.
Wycombes run-in is not an easy one at all (Shrewsbury's quite possibly the easiest). Twitchy bum time, Ms Rocky!
I think Bury have a relatively cosy run in. But as we all know, there is no such thing as a cosy run in. Playing against any team with a shot at auto promotion or play-offs or fighting to avoid relegation will be like a cup match. From what I've seen of Wycombe, if we play a team that is up for it, we will need to raise our game for 90+ minutes. We can do it but the bigger question is will we? This is when we need all the supporters behind the team willing them to victory.
My prediction for the top 10 final places: GD Pts 1 Chesterfield 36 88 2 Bury 34 82 3 Shrewsbury 21 80 4 Wycombe 15 78 5 Stevenage 24 77 6 Torquay 28 76 7 Rotherham 23 76 8 Gillingham 16 75 9 Accrington 11 74 10 Port vale 9 72 I've kept a copy of my predictions so I can see how optimistic or pessimistic I've been as the results come in.
